Got an 03 black cavy LS coupe, and as probably many of you have noticed, every time you close your door, the paint on the inside wears out where it contacts the door weather strip on top.
At 90K km, there is substantial paintwear that had been impossible to see with the door shut so far, but I just rubed against it when getting something out of th ecar and now there's a nice chip, 'bout an inch long by 0.25" wide, on the door frame.
How should I touch it up so it doesn't show too much? I know the car is black so it's going to be almost impossible to make it disapear completely, but I'd rather have it as good as I can get it withouth having the whole door repainted ( $$$$ ). I'm already having the front end ( hood and front bumper ) repainted somewhere in May.
So, suggestions?
Thanks!
just get some touch up paint and just dap it on the mark and it will fill it in pretty good. it will be noticible if you know what your looking for but if not, you'll never know
take som 1500 paper wet sanding , do get to crazy just enough for the paint to bite into
apply the touch up paint let it dry then sand that with 1500 or even 2000, re apply the paint
then buff
if ya have no experince doin such a thing then do not attempt doing it
can i haz bondo

X2 i used to do this a lot on my 99 sedan. black matches pretty easily so the touch up is not going to stand out. like it would on a blue or yellow car.
