Ok so i want to wash my engine but i am scared to beccause of the ceramic coating on my header..what can i use that isnt goignt o ruin it..My last header the ceramic coating got al dull and grey and blotchy from the engien degreaser..so what orks and doenst ruin the coating? phil
if the extreme heat from ur engine doesnt hurt it, u think a wash is gonna hurt it?
umm it did acually..so im ot being dum it ruined the coating..it went from shiney to avery dull grey and had splotches all over it..so im figuring the chemicals in the degreaser hurt it..phil
i would use castrol super clean or some brake clean. that being said brake clean is pretty good stuff it won't hurt anything and its a wicked degreaser if i can use brake clean on the side of my car to remove sticker junk im sure it won't hurt your headers but its all your choice right i personally would just use water if you are that scared

I am wondering the same as well. I have some sort of stain..looks like surface rust, but not really..on my ceramic header. brake cleaner wont harm the finish? cause soap, water, and hard scrubbing isnt getting it off.
