I was rear ended last week, and I am replacing my trunk temporairly. How do I remove the lock from my lid that came with the car and install it in the trunk lid I have. I notice there are alot of wires that run into my trunk lid. I can get all of these wires off, I just don't know how to remove my factory lock safely without messing anything up.

Reach up inside behind the metal frame and there will be a metal ring you pull away to one side, then hte lock cylinder should just drop out the outside...
