Going about polishing lip
Sunday, January 08, 2006 6:04 PM
My lip was scratched up when the tire was installed on my wheel. I'm doing my wheels in gunmetal anyway and I wanna polish the lip. Now with polishing the lip what all would I have to do to it? I was told so start off at like a 400 gritt paper and go up to 1000 gritt. now after I polish can I use alcohol to remove the oils from the polish and clear it? Thanks in advance. I posted this in the wheel forum with no sucess so I figured I would try here.

cool I just dont know how that would work on the machined part instead of painted.

#0000 super fine steel wool I think would work better than 400 gritt paper on the machined part. I wish I could help more, but I have limited experience with polishing.
