Just wondering how you guys masked off the idi cover if you were painting the ridges that go up and down different colors. I don't feel like cutting masking tape into skinny pieces and spending 10 hours on it...

I think they paint the whole thing, then just sand the ridges.

I first sanded down the ridges and the letter etc. polished it. Then what i did was paint it with high temp engine enamel, couple coats of that and then let it dry use a very sharp razor blade and carfully cut off the tops of the ridges and clear coat the whole thing......DONE lol turns out very nice IMO.
hope this helps

I actually just got a decal kit from ebay, i cant find them on there anymore i dont think, probably not the cheapest way, but i stuck it in the z24, then painted the whole car, and just took those off haha. I like it being the blue the car used to be, check it out

Cleaned mine with a wire wheel, then polished, then primed, basecoated, then sanded off the basecoat on the raised parts revieling the polished surface again, and then clearcoated. And no I didnt use cheap a$$ spraypaint.
