so i was in pep boys getting some wax and cleaning stuff etc. and i noticed they had some underbodies for around 80-100 bucks. there streetglow optix, does anybody know about these kits/does anybody have them?
i heard they wernt that great. i have seen a few they arent that bad but i wouldnt ever buy one for myself.
Ollie's Discount Outlet by my house has underbody kits for $45
lol, all they have is purple tho
i got the red optix underglow from advance auto. it looked really good, they are bright in my opinion. but my passenger side light went out and there is no damage to the bulb or wires, so i don't know if it's just mine or if they aren't made to last. i only had it on for like 6 months b4 it went out. but other than that, no complaints.
do u have any pictures of them
if you are getting street glow, get the gold series. they have a lifetime warranty and light up the whollle underneath of your car and a good 8 inches outside of it. theres a guy selling some right now

I just installed the Street Glow Optix kit on a Scion XB. It's not BAD, persay--and you can definitely see it well. But the light it puts down on the ground is very soft; not "bright" like my Street Glow Golds.
Personally, I would go for the Golds again if I had to do it over myself. Better (thicker) wires and a beefier transformer.
alright thanks for all the input
The thicker wire insures fewer shorts compared to the 18 gauge wire in the optix. The 9200 transformer in the gold series is built to last and puts out a a stronger light line. You will see the color clearly. The most important reason to buy the gold series is if the light is broken but the tube is intact streetglow will replace it. Period. If you are driving down the highway like I was and hit a remnant of a semi tire and bust up your whole underbody on the right side they will replace the tubes for you.....FREE.
alright so im most likey going to get the gold series. i was just looking under the car and on the sides there doesn't seem like there too much room to mount some 52" tubes.
I got mine done by a shop......if you are getting yours done by a shop they will get them in there and most of the time do it right. Horizon Audio did mine and they put them kinda up in the frame so they are vulnerable to as much damage but still give off all kinda light. gold series are lifetime warranty as long as the inner tube don't break. the outer tube holds around 500 pounds of pressure i believe.

Look at the price difference though... This guy is looking at neon's between $80-$100. The Gold Series Street Glow is over $200, isn't it...?

i can get some of the 3 that work if u want. i think i'm gonna step up to the gold series tho. u get what u pay for
ya i just got back from a local shop and i went with teh gold series in green. its was $189 plus tax. ill have them by monday.
how can you tell if it is the blue line or gold because i bought a set form a friend and the one bulb is broken.
i bought the red streetglow optx from pepboys and mine works wonderful. never had a problem with them.
"Boost tuning"....... have you had your 8 PSI today?
future name of the winter shop!!!
ok well check it out everyone is saying gold series is better which it is....installation isn't too hard if hard at all....as far as mounting goes...i used the pinch well and used their brackets...their brackets screw in and form a circle around the tube.....if u sqeeze the screws in the pinch weld u can have the tubes sit above them more or less conceling the tube from sight......if it ends up being to hard u can drill small holes near the top of the pinch weld and use zip ties and keep the tubes on the inside of the weld....i wouldn't recomend zip ties because not many of them if any are weather proof and u may need to replace them but in very frustrating circumstances when installing urself u might need to use them....but definitly use the heavy duty ones....(try the ones they use to hold up ductwork) hope this helps and doesn't sound too ricerish
I have the opix blue had them for 3 years now and so far only had to buy one neon
and i love them lol.. but i soon will be getting the gold.
