Blacked out headlights

for those cavi owners who have the outer piece of thier head lights blacked out instead of the chrome, how did you do it?

I was told that lemon juice will do it is that true?

Lemon juice ??? thats a first learn something new everyday...

well there is a few ways it can be done
1. maybe they got the black headlights
or
2. they used that spray on tent
or
3. they got eyebrows
just my .02 though

what do you mean by outer piece? also which headlights are we talkin' about?

typically people buy black headlights or they heat up the ones they have to loosen the glue so they can open them up and paint the inside.

sorry for not being too clear, it's a '00 cavalier and what I want to do is exactly what this car has done to it's headlights:




I imagine it involves putting the headlights in the oven and using high heat spray paint, but I just wanna be sure.

The corner lights can either be found on Ebay......... or pull your's apart, and paint them...... heat them up in an oven, and cut the glue...... do the same for the headlights.

Use some good clear RTV sealer to put them back together.

the headlights don't need to be heated up at all, we took a knife to the sealent on mine and they popped right open, no problem

ive seen the corners on ebay.....but as far as painting the headlights do you use regular paint? or like krylon fusion or what

i would like to kno this too. i havent seen any painted 95-99 black headlights. only corners
