SS Style Hood Clearance
Friday, September 02, 2005 2:32 AM
I had an issue with my stock hood and my cold air intake not wanting to agree on which one took precedence and i now have a big dent in the middle of my hood where the air intake below turns into the throttle body. I lowered the intake as low as i could without making the throttle stick and still no luck. I am interested on putting the SS Scoop hood on my cavy but I am unsure if I will have the same problem or not again. I have a 2002 Eco. Any Help I have about a year left out here in Japan so I have time for some options since my car is sitting in the states right now.

Yes... You were just passed by a cav!! Sucka!

I have a weapon r and it hits my hood but, My hood design dips down in the middle to the OEM hieght so that is my issue. I really dont think it will hit as long as its open under the hood. Even if it does hit from what mine has done is just rubbed the paint off underneath. I really dont think the SS hood would hit the intake since its raised exactly where that spot is. Mine hits about 3 inches down from the bend coming offf the intake. The fuel rail cover keeps it from going down far enough on my 2.2...2.4 probably a non issue.

the weapon r doesnt fit the 02 , it only fits the 03-05's , they have more hood room

you have to use rk sports , or aems intake

At least thats what our stores comp system says

maybe you got the wrong one?

can you not read he has a 02 ECO , the only year for the eco in the 95-02 front end styling

the weapon r intakes do not fit the 02 ecos , they hit the hood as he found out

wasnt really trying to be a ass , but in order to give advice about something , you got to pay attention to the small details

This is what mine looks like. It is the rksport with the ss hood. I have no problem, however the induction under the hood does press right on top of my filter. Not alot, just barely noticeable.
