Ok i've tried everything, i've tried playing around with plastic knobs at the edge of the truck, playing with the latch of the truck and i can't figure it out for the life of me. I got rear ended a while back ago and ever since then my trunk has never lined up. I looks like as and to boot it leaks!!!!
when i put some force to bring it down it goes flush with the rear fender but if i just leave as it is no force it doesn't stay even
Anyone know what i can do to fix it?

Both sides are too high? I'd move the latch up further then.

ok if ya move the latch up your goin to make it worse, here what i would do
remove teh primary and secondary latch and see how the deck lid is sittin
take a piece of 2x4 or a 4x4 and put it in the middle of the body end panle get a buddy and tell him to hold one side of the deck lid while you push down on a side to bend the deck lid and then switch to the other side
moving the latch down is what ya want not moving it up
was the car hit in the ass end before?? if it was the body end panel could still be stuffed in and causing the deck lid to not sit right
you can also take the wood and hit down the weather strip but do it gently becasue the inner 1/4 is very weak on those cars
try that see what happens

putting 2x4 on the body panel.. wouldn't that wreck the paint or even scratch it? i don't know exactly what you mean prob.
I was looking at the weather striping today and it looks like it's just simply too high in the back i might just try thatway..
yea the car was hit in the ass end before, and since then that's what caused it.

ok so the car was hit in the ass end and the deck lid still does that?? one or 2 things the trunk fllor the frame rails are still bent look underneath the car and look for any creases in the rail`s or the trunk floor
2nd the deck lid is bent and ya need to bend it back to shape, i mean is you put the wood on the body end panel, if ya look down inside the trunk you see the carpet tie down,.....beneath that is the body end panel and where the tail lights sit
are the body lines to the door`s uneven??? do you see any buckles in the rook?? or in the 1/4 panles??? look at the outer wheel house to see if any damage has occured

Same thing happend to my car, well it was my bf's at the time and i was the one who rear ended him. I was told it will probably never realine the way it was. Same here BOTH sides are FUDGED up. if you push one side down the other pops up. So one side is always up in the air. Im taking it back to the people who did the job and have them fix it...You should have a life time warrenty with who ever fixed it.
It may be slow but my best friend is a sheriff
I will check that but i wont be able to check it till later on this week just for the fact that im working overtime basically at work.
