ok so my hinge broke on my lambo door and i dont know why its under warranty so itsgetting replaced but i was wondering why. is the strut too strong (750lb) or was it just a defective hinge or what... input would be helpful thanks...

Same thing happend to someone I know... Bought them in that group buy that was goin on a few months ago...... One of the bolts that holds the upper shock mount, the swivle one broke right off.......The door dropped damn quick...

same happened to me, apparently this happens when the shock is too strong. it just pushes the hinge up as you are bringing it down. on mine, the allen screw that holds the shock in the hinge broke, along with the top part of the shock (the partthat screws in). I hope joe sees this so hes aware of the problem.

well the swivle didnt break on mine, it was the part that holds the strut ya know the part with the hole that the strut sits in thats what broke but i fixed the passanger side today...well not really fixed i just replaced the strut so now i waiting on my new hinge to come in redrumcustoms says they have a redesigned hinge that is supposed to be reinforced to stop this problem so thats the one im getting...

^^ All we did was e-mail the guy about it, and the next day he had the parts shipped express out to us at a no charge. He said thanks for not posting up on the forum.... that was about it... Easy fix, just kinda @!#$ty that they are breaking, but if its just from the shock being too strong, once they are worked in alittle they should be alright... I hope. That was @!#$ dangerous, I had JUST finished adjusting them too.. OOOHH if my arm was in there... WOW.... LAAAWWW SUIT!!!

he told u thanks for not posting in the forum? i think we just screwed up here.... (well he didnt tell me anything) anyway, I Just sent him the broken shock yesterday, I found a replacement for the allen screw here locally, i didnt wanna be a @$#% to joe and be all mad and say "hey im gonna sue u , my door fell and ur going to jail" or something like that.
you would have to sue the manufacturer ..........since they are the ones who made the door hinge and or shock and not the person whom sold it to you(there basically a middle person)........
i had the same issue with the allen screw breaking that holds the strut to the upper part of the hinge, also noticed last time i took off my fender and attempted to remove the hinge... the part that goes into the little swivel on the bottom is rusted to the swivel piece so bad u cant even see the seam between em... not too happy about that but oh well, everything works. even tho its a pain in the butt sometimes and thinking about going back to stock... just too much hassle for as much as i use my car

i fixed my passanger side door yesterday and i put my car in the shop today. shop charging me 150 to replace hinge but hinge is being exchanged for free so i guess its ok

o wow not more bad stories about these doors. IM hopin i luck out and dont run into any trouble with them. But who knows with the way things go for me id be the one to have it fall and i wouldnt be around to catch it
it seems that no matter which brand you get they all suck... or really are not intended for daily use...hopefully my new hinge design will be better than the old design which is the standard designed one

Hey guys.....As Euric stated, these type of problems can pretty much happen with any door hinge on the market right now. I know we've sold 250+ between the 2 GP's we've run and had very few problems. The problems that we have had have mainly been shock problems. But, this type of thing happens with all kits. Before these, we sold several other brands and had problems with their shocks as well (as well as fitment issues). All of the kits are great....Problem is, a heavy duty shock can really only take so much up and down. I'm actually working on a new design right now and should have some pictures released soon. Anyone that has any problems, just get a hold of me. Anyone that has had problems knows I'm good for it.......
Show-Stopper Tuning (Tabasco Racing) - I'm not sure what happened with the replacement, but the tracking number is showing it floating around somewhere. I contacted USPS a few times and they can't find it. I sent out another replacement yesterday for you including the extra pieces you need......Sorry for the delay.......

dont use usps period.... i dont give 2 damn craps about shipping cost... i work for dell and um yeah we DO NOT use usps simply cuz more shipments get lost with them than anyone else, and their tracking is shoddy at best. just a heads up for future reference bro....and Dave.... yeah.....i think me and you both had the same issues with the same hinges....from the same place....

Look out for your door falling off
The metal on my shock snapped in half
(i don't know how that happens but whatever) There were no signs to look for so.. Atleast it will be replaced easily enough.
Hopefully you don't have any problems with yours Lenko.

same thing for me but once the first shock broke it must have messed up something else because once i put the new shock on thats when the bottom of the hinge broke
(in shop getting fixed now should be ready for the jmeet on the 27th
