Need some HELP, just bought an 01 GT, and I really think it's missing the center insert. The place where you would hang a front plate. It looks to me like there should be a cover if you don't hang a plate. My Grand AM has one that spells PONTIAC. Anyway, I live in PA, and we don't have front plates, so I hope if someone out there has a 'SILVER' cover that they want to sell..... Please let me know. Thanks!

The good news is you're right, there is a cover that goes there. The bad news is that I don't have one for sale . My best suggestion would be to get one from a Pontiac dealer. I got mine brand new from a dealer. I don't remember off hand exactly how much it was, but I know it wasn't that much and it shouldn't be more than $50 to paint it. The front end definitely looks a lot better with the license plate fiiller as oppose to a license plate. Too bad front license plates are required here in Illinois .

ya do what i did just but your plate inder the car so it does not take away from the bumper

wtf is the point of that lol, might as well have it off, and its gonna suck when your forced to having a plate on the front, your gonna have a rusted scratched up plate

I had the front license plate filler on for the longest time and never got hasseled by the cops. About a week after I got my exhaust installed I was driving with a cop behind me. I turned and he kept going, but as soon as he saw that I didn't have a front license plate he turned around and pulled me over. He gave me a warning for no front license plate and a loud exhaust. Ever since then I figure it's better to just put the license plate on and use the filler for shows to avoid getting pulled over and getting tickets. So far, I have yet to be pulled over for my exhaust again, so that just proves it was really only over me not having a front license plate. As far as putting the license plate under the car, since I have vanity plates I would rather put it on the bumper so it doesn't get all bent up. Although that is a good idea.

well i have had it like that for 3 years

and what i did not have one i got a ticket

it is visable from the front and that all what the cops care about

I wasn't trying to be mean, just pointing out that in my case I don't want my plates to get all bent up and stuff.

i liked it there cuz when it craps i know i cant go cuz my rear bumper will drag too

You do have a good point there about the license plate scraping . I never thought of it like that.

ya thats the only reasone y is was there,

cuz i was tired of cracking my rear bumper on bumps..

it where it sat is the same hit as the rear bumper
