xm antenna

if i was going to get this XmDirect and go to gm to get the stock xm antenna and not use the one that comes with this kit would it work? or do i have to stay with the one that comes with the kit?

any antenna will work but why on earth would you want that huge stock antenna?

No it will not work...the inputs on your xm unit is different than the stinnger of the stock gm peice...I have the roady 2. Unless there is a special crossover kit that I don't know about..I've had mine for about 2 years now. I just hit my antenna where my child anchors went. No one can see it and it works great.

I don't know - I kinda like mine on the roof.

I like it when people ask what it is and I can brag about the benefits of satellite radio, then they look at me like I'm some high-tech city slicker who must have a lot of money.

I don't have a pic of mine yet...but I used to have the antenna on top of my car also..scratched the hell out of the roof...so I put it inside...I still can brag about mine cause all they see is the roady 2 and how it's backlit no one knows wut is is for the most part

so is this XmDirect the same as roady 2 and would it work with my sony head unit?

the roady 2 broadcast's over your radio station...There's like 2 wires...one for the power...goes into the cigerett llighter,and one for the antenna. I saw in best buy the roady 2 for like 40 or 50 bucks or somthing like that...VERY easy to install.The reception is pefect...no flaws in the sound at all...as long as you don't have a actual station on the one you choose.

driver side of the car right above the windshield you can barely notice it. ill try for a better pic of it for ya tomorrow

Does anyone know how to remove the antenna? Yes i know there will be a holes left. I just am wondering if its screwed in or magnet or what? Thanks
