My brother and I have been working on this for over 6 hours, and I am perplexed... has anybody had any problems with their lambo doors not closing correctly?
I have the hinge bolted into the fender, and the door, and followed the directions carefully, but I cannot close my door, it hits the quarter panel.. more specifically my sideskirt which is screwed into the quarterpanel on the inside of the door frame. I need to move the hinge about a 32/inch toward the front of the car and it should fit, but I can't get anymore room out of it.. its as far to the front of the car as the bolt holes will alow. I have tried for hours now trying to make everything fit.. but I just can't get the door to close. Has anybody else had this problem? How do you fix it? Do you have to elongate the holes a bit on the hinge to get the door to close properly?
It's on the driver side btw, I haven't even attempted the passender side yet. I also bought new nuts as I'm told that was a requirement, but it doesn't seem to be helping
Any help is greatly appreciated, as I am just about out of ideas
you might have the wrong hinges just get into contact with joe he he will send you the write ones not sure but it takes some time to get them to fit correctly not sure if this helps or not but you might have the wrong hinges thats what i think
Ive got Speedway Performance hinges but I had to elongate the holes for the bolts so the hinge could slide forward cuz the door was hitting on my 1/4 panel also. I just used a diegrinder. My bottom hole had to be elongated 1/2"
make sure the hindge is slid foward.. then bolt it to the car have u ever wrecked that side? i heard of some problems in 00+ with lambo kits
it may just be a problem with the washers... you might be able to just grind down the washers a bit and then it will slide forward further.... a few people have done that with the MMS lambo hinge and it worked for them
Mine did the same thing when i put mine on.. so i took them off and grinded out some more of the hole for the bolts and a little off the arm that goes down so it had more room to play with. Now it aligns perfectly fine.
Thanks
Shaun

w00tburgers - I got your e-mail.......As others stated above, did you try grinding down the washer a bit? I know we've had to do this some times with some installs. Unfortunately, some go smooth and others have slight issues when installing. Nothing big though. I'll send you an e-mail as well.....
I totally got rid of the washers on the body side of the hinges. I kept the washers on the door part cuz the bolt would go all the way through the hole if I didn't use the washers. Joe mentioned to me so i'll pass on to you that you should try to use your stock hinge bolts for a little more adjustability. after 1 million open, loosen, barely move, tighten, close repititions, the the door finally lined up and shut all the way (meaning, the light will turn off like it's supposed to). I thought something was wrong with the hinge too, but I just kept trying!
I didn't get your email
but after 11 hours I decided to give up and go back to stock hinges.. at least for now. I have to do some grinding on it to make it work.. not a huge deal, I just have to find a buddy or a shop with the right tools.. that will void my warranty though right?
ya man I worked on mine for a good while. I had to enlarge the holes and grind the washers... Just do that and it will fit trust me. it's worth it in the end
