Carbon fiber hood and heat?
Sunday, June 19, 2005 3:16 AM
Just wondering if heat from the engine will damage carbon fiber hoods or not, I notice my CF hood has holes drilled in it like the stock hood has for the heat linner to be attached. Should I place a heat linner on the underside of my CF hood?

i don't know for sure, but i'd do it just to be safe so it doesn't ruin the clear on the cf.

My friend has a JSP CF ram air hood on his 02 base model, with a T3/T4 right under it. It smells a little after long drives but hasnt discolored or anything.

Yes you better put some kind of insulation under it or it will start to fade the clear coat where the most heat is present, happend on my buddies eco already..
