how would i go about stripping the old paint off my calipers withough having to take it completely off? because the paint is really starting to come off because the place that did it didnt sand the rust off before painting.

You can take sand paper to it or try steel pads. Get the rust off and try paint again.

if it is a high temp paint then paint thinner won't work too well. I've tried it with duplicolors engine enamel and paint thinner didn't touch it.

Just sand it, try using a wire wheel. You may have to take the caliper right off, just to get all the paint off.

I had the same thing happen to me. Some quality time between me, the offending caliper, and a steel wool pad did the trick. I would recommend a wire wheel on a dremel, having done it the old-fashioned way myself.

I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but at least I'm a pretty color
