Okay guys...i had a thread going about tips and stuff with the installation of the kit but it died. So now heres this...
I got the kit and its ON the car. Front bumper Fits like crap IMO, rear bumper is good (i can adjust certain gaps etc so its all good) and now the sides and door mouldings fitment needs to be addressed. I got the sideskirts on BUT, i could not figure out those stupid brackets that came with the kit (i have an se). I "think" i know what the purpose is but as far as putting them on, im not 100%. Im guessing it screws under the skirt (where the door jam is at) onto the car and then the skirt screws to the bracket? I couldnt find any info on this at all. Instructions=junk. So now my skirts are on without these brackets and there of course, all loose and floppy. Im guessin the bracket holds the skirt out far so it lines up with the door moulding? I dont have the door peices on yet cuz i figured i fix this first. SO, can i put these on without pulling the skirts off (the adhesive is on with the epoxy stuff)?? And second, did you use selftapping screws onto the car and from the skirt to the bracket or flush screws (so the door doesnt touch them when closing)??
Now on the front, the gap under the hood is not even at all and the crush gaurd is still there. Its all wavy. And does the bumper attach exactly on the indention peice in the fender well? When i put the liner exactly in the indention on the bumper it looks to be pushed in to much (towards tire)/narrow. Did ya'll make braces for it? Sure seems...not solid.
Thats all i can think of right now..
Please help me!!
Also, what did yall use to mount the grille in the bumpers.
do you have pics.. I am assuming you got a fiberglass version of this kit? where did you get it?

Dosent sound like the RKSport Streetfire kit. The one i got fit like a glove. Im with whiteboy, must be a fiberglass knock off.

Nope...Rk urethane kit. No knock off here.
i will try and get some pics up today.
Sorry about the problems that you are having, my front end went on like a charm.
As for the sideskirts, I am using type-js but the installation should be similar. You can use double-sided tape to attach it in the door sill, but I opted to use screws, the low profiles phillips head ones, and I predrilled the holes. I will finally be posting pictures of my car later tonight and I'll get some of the screws to show you what I did if you want
I had NO problems with my kit... i also went with the type j's... and for the grill... i used screws and washers on the front ones... but the front big one i have problems with because guess from the high speed winds and my plate being attached to it... and the rear ones my body shop used some silicone adhesive.. no problems with those...
I have noticed over the year and a half i have had the kit, my gaps are getting bigger.. the urethane being so heavy causes it to sag a bit over time... my question is... was your kit brand new out of the box?
and for other owners.... do you find the same sagging? and how did you stop it?
sorry to post jack...
***Thanks again to stargrrrl***
Kit is brand new out of the box from RKsport (through karo).
As for the skirts, did yalls come with a bracket to attach the skirt to the door sill? I cant figure it out at all. I have an se by the way. I think the GTs already have this bracket etc.
The front is good except at the top (where it meets hood). Doesnt look right at all.
Yes, the GT's already have the brackets for their stock sides, SE is suposed to come with the black braces in order to hold the skirts.. Mine came with them by accident, and i never had use for them, luckily when they came bent to @!#$, i didnt need them anyways...
***Thanks again to stargrrrl***
Yes, it came with them and thats what im held up on now. I kinda know how theyre supposed to go but im stumped on how exactly.
Also, in the last 10 mins i went and installed/mounted the door panels. Looks SO much better!!
I took new pics but i have to upload them on my friends comp(his cam etc) and i will post pics tomorrow of the front bumper.
After looking closely this evening i think thats the only problem ive found. The front is wavy. Crush guard is intact and still there. I just removed 2 blocks off the bottom section where you cant see it hang down in the front opening.
After lookin on pontiacsunfire.com and seeing everyone else with the kit (front) i noticed the majority have the same issue...one side is kinda higher/closer to the hood.
Any possible fixes? Maybe sometime of shim to bring up the other side or something to lower one side?
Also if anyone has pics of there sideskirt install on a se it sure would be helpful. I already have em on without the brackets
*Slaps himself*
Y'know where the (3, I believe) screws hold the top of the bumper (by the hood) onto the crush guard/support? Try slipping some washers underneath the urethane bumper, and on top of the crush guard/support (to level it off), then putting in your screws.
Hope this makes sense--I think mine lines up great.
Yeah...i might try that. I used cardboard and it seemed to work but i took it out to drive home. I might try something like that.
Wonder why yalls isnt like that?
Heres the gap in the front i was talkin about. See how its wavy?
