hey i just bought another sunfire for parts and im going to take the stock spoiler off and weld up the holes and put it on my sunfire that im working on but i live in maryland and you need a 3rd brake light...anyone have any suggestions on where i should put a 3rd brake light in because the stock spoiler had the 3rd light and now i only have 2 lights. I was thinking of taking the real wide brake light off the cavy's stock spoiler and molding it into the back of the trunk but im not sure. heres a pic of what light im talking about

You should either take a rear deck 3rd brake light out of a older cav.
Or even cooler would be to connect that PONTIAC light in the back to the brake line.
here's a thread that was posted a few weeks ago...not a bad idea if you can do it...

i was thinking about that but isnt the pontiac phrase hooked up to the running lights that are on all the time when the lights are turned on?
In stock form, that Pontiac light is lit up by the license plate lights, which come on whenever the car is turned on, mostly just to light up the Pontiac light.
While it would be cool to isolate it from the license plate lights and turn it into a 3rd brake light, I really doubt it would meet legal standards. I suspect it is too low to act as the 3rd brake light. They have height requirements.
It's definitely a cool idea though.
Even if you decide to pursue it, I'd still get the inside rear deck with the light on it. Both Cavs and Sunfires without stock spoilers came with it.
