I just bought diza racing side skirts and FX rear bumper. I was wondering how to install the side skirts. I have several ways that probably could work but may not be the best way to go. My first guess is by screwing them in the from fender wells down the bottom and on the back fender wells... this sill will cause them to flop from the body. so I thought about sanding the paint down and aplying tiger hair to the skirt and the side panal and then sanding it and glazing it... then I thought the tiger hair wont adhere to the metal. so now my guess is as good as yours... any help?
usually people just screw them in on the sides and use 3m double sided molding tape on the rest to keep it close to the body
does anyone think tiger hair will hold it on the metal panel without cracking? I dont feel like painting the car then it cracking...
what about self tapping screws on the sides and in the door sills
yeawh the front back and bottom... I also got what you mean to... but I would like it to really be on there you know?
drill a hole in your quarter panel, and fiberglass a bolt to the inside of the skirt, then put the skirt on and put the nut on it from the inside, also screw it to the wheel well. or use an epoxy body panel adhesive like fusor 147 to glue them on
will fusor 147 hold it on pretty good? is it in a spray can or applied by brush on? could i glass and glaze over that? where can I get it?
most body shop supply stores will have it, its like a 2 part epoxy so you squeeze it out of a tube. It can be sanded, and filled over, but give it 24 hours before you put filler over it
double sided taping...(expensive stuff..don't use the cheap stuff..won't last)...and screws in the wheel wells~
hope this helps
I used fusor 147 to mold my bumper in. It's definitely good stuff
Beat it like it owes you money
