ok i got a 2001 cavy carbon fiber hood and trunk. what i want to do
is do a 95-99 headlight and front bumper conversion. what i was wondering
is if anyone out there has done this b4 and how hard it was. thanks in advance
Yep... I did this to a friend of mines ride last week... we went from a sunfire to a 95-99 cavalier front end and got both the high and low beams to work just fine. Hit me up if you need some tips.
I got lights and everything if you want. e-mail or IM me and will help you out with alot of your questions
Sorry, new here and new to J-body cars. No new holes or anything need to be made, the headlamps bolt right into the stock places? I've got a stock 95 Cav and was thinking that since I want projectors, clear corners and a different bumper anyways I might as well go newer. Are the fenders the same between 95-99 and the 00-02?
No... the fenders are different... if you go from 00+ back to the 95-99 you will need wither new fenders or a custom mount. Cause on the 95-99 the corner light mounts to the fender... and on the 00+ the corner light mounts to the headlight... thus eliminating the corner mount on the fender. Good luck... and like I said if anyone needs the wireing diagram I'll be more than happy to make one up....
yes I understand that part of it (the brackets) but is the shape of the corner lens cut-out in the fender the same? To me it looks bigger on the 00+ models.
hey i need a diagram, i'm going from a 97 to 03 headlights. I just don't wanna cause a short or something.
Just so everyone know, if you search for HOW TO in the subject, you should find my post. Everything you need to convert a 00+ cavalier to a 95-99 including a diagram and tools.
Orlandomon - Search for "headlight wiring" and you should be able to find mennetti's diagram.
Convert 00+ headlights to 95-99
Just so YOU know I don't want to convert 00+ to 95-99, I want to convert 95-99 to 00+
I have the the stuff you need to convert to a 00+ except wiring harness the corners are bigger on the 2000+ IM me if you need anyhting or help. slow2pt2 is my AIM
(Insert really cool picture of my car with some catchy name or slogan here)
Hell if your going from a 95-00+ that's easy... just cut the bracket off the inside of the fender and bolt that crap on... then just use the menneti wiring diagram as stated above and your set... the only other thing you'll need is either a 00+ front bumper or to modify your 95+ to fit... have fun... only took me like 2 hours to wire and install everything when I did the conversion on my 95...
lol, I figured it'd be simple. This isn't something I can afford to do right this second, I've got some other bills stacking up against me
Another dumb question. What about the 2004 frontend? Will the headlights, fenders, bumper and hood fit a 95?
Here you go, courtesy of Auto and Audio. If you have a question email me.

Ok, that's the wiring. But what about parts bolting on? Does anyone know if the 04 front end will bolt up on a 95?
we need to buy relays too? or can we just wire everything up?
Yes the relays must be purchased seperately. Everything must be soldered, no solderless connectors can be used, or your weiner will shrivel up and fall off!

the same thing applies they will all fit 95-05 with some modifacation to bumper and fenders(cut down bumper for bigger headlights and take out the 95-99 corner brackets from fenders or buy a new bumper for whatever year conversion you are doing)

Thanks a bunch. I was planning more to replace the bumpers, fenders and hood though so it'd be a nice clean bolt-on look.
