SS/SC 36LB injectors...
Wednesday, October 01, 2008 12:14 PM
Can someone tell me how to convert the injector constant from the 310cc injectors that come with the mp45 kit to the 378cc injectors that the cobalt ss comes with. I bought a set and they will be here this week and i just dont understand that conversion table that shifted and pj figured out because they are using 24lb injectors as a base.

Its all the same formula... You just need to change the 24 base to a 30 base.....

I think I posted what the new constant is a few times already.

(30/36)*.32359
( old lb / new lb ) * (old constant)

0.26966

Are you running the stock GM reflash?

yes i am running the gm reflash along with me and so hardcores version of what you can call an hp tuners mod. we played around with it a little bit smoothing the fuel and spark out and adjusted the fans and such. also disabled the pe delay rpm so it kicks in right off the bat. runs pretty good with the nitrous and the ticking lifter. im taking it to the track october 19th hoping for a 13 second pass with the new injectors...

*sigh*

As it was said in many other threads, you don't want the PE Delay RPM to be so low... otherwise you're in power enrichment mode when you're not even near WOT.

PE mode should be entered at maximum VE. The TPS reading also tells it to turn on..

I would set your PE Delay based on the RPM you are getting either full boost, or solid boost at. I have tuned a GM sc car (99), we set the PE delay at 2900. Seems to work well and has good AFR's.

how do i install these injectors? i got them on the rail but do i use the stock metal clip to hold them in? its kinda interfering with the injector clips. i slotted the fuel rail and im going to bolt it up but im not sure if i have to use the metal clip or not. thanks.

I did not use any clips at all. The SS/Sc use different ones than a LD9. once the rail is bolted down they aren't coming off.

so we got the injector constant down and they car runs normal, but i have a concern with the duty cycle. its running at 85% duty cycle on the highest we recorded. is that ok or am i going to have to get the ss/sc stage 2 42.5 lb injectors?

did you change the number in your duty cycle formula to reflect the new injectors?

bah ignore that, i couldn't remember if IDC had user inputted number (like my real-time MPG one is) or if it measured by other means

If ti is fully tuned then 85% is fine. Just do not want to go with a smaller pulley on them.

ion - we tried using the MPG thing you created and sent to chris posa but it didnt work on my car. the injector duty cycle worked though. the constant is just fine. its working like it should and i no longer notice and surging at low rpm mid boost full throttle like i did before

who knows; are you logging what variables the code uses for its calculation in your primary table?

lol in order for custom gauges to work you must have whatever the gauge uses to calculate its data in your "Primary Table".

But all you really need are "Engine Speed (RPM)", "Vehicle Speed (MPH)" and "Injector" or Injector duty cycle... it should work. Does it just stay at 0 or no value at all?

Going to go put in my LSJ injectors now, woo, epic fuel splash of 2008 here we come.
