Tuning for boost

Will I have to change the values in the VE table and the spark table? If so which way do I need to go with the numbers. With my motor swap Im supposed to be able to tune it off of the MAF sensor but im not sure how to go about doing that. Any help would be great.

I'm kind of surprised... all the work you've done mechanically and you don't know the tuning aspect..?

just drop it off at a tune shop and have a professional do it.

I concure....in your case, I would think a professional tuner would be highly advised.

After that, you can do some on your own....but take it somewhere first if you dont know what you are doing...please....I would hate to see you ruin your setup

Im curious nate... does your car have a MAP and a MAF??

Judging by this thread... http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=40&i=152331&t=152331 you said you have a MAP. But this thread you are talking about a MAF. Some cars do have both. But the way I remember is the MAP is a backup for the MAF.

lol i know the tuning basics. I tuned dyno tuned mine as it is now N/A but I didnt have to mess with the MAF calibration at all I just tuned the VE table. My 3400 has both a MAP and a MAF sensor. Im sorry if I sounded like an idiot in the first post I wasnt sure how to word it. But I know that in HP Tuners theres a section for the MAF sensor and the table is lb/min and MAF frequency. Im assuming that if you change the numbers in there it will change how the PCM will read the air input.

Well it depends on what file you are using....I am not familiar with an HPT file for a 3.4, what computer are you using (what donor car)??

I know you can NOT do anything with that on a Cavalier tune file. You might wanna check something like Grand Am forums, although I think some people on these forums would be a lot more familiar with it than me....is it still an alpha n system, of speed density??

I am suprised you are tuning this with HPT to be honest....I thought you would go via megasquirt or something...
