i have a 96 cavalier with the 2.4 an I would like to start using hpt an would rather buy the cable an give somone a few bucks to validate a ecu for me than buying the whole program year dose not matter sence i have a 96 an will have to swap the ecu anyway just checking to see whats out there
thanks in advance
Bryan.
you can't do anything w/ the 1996 ecu.
and you can't just get the cable. you'd be stuck using the person's cable that "unlocked" your ecu to tune.
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party

guess i stand corrected. I was under the impression that hpt coded the cables and the boxes or whatever. then again i'm not a guru on the matter,
thanks for the input

you could re tune a tuned car (that is tune over top of someones tune that was done with a different cable) you would just have to pay credits again to be able to tune it. my understanding is once the vehicle is tuned you can continue to modify it until the cows come home with the cable that you orginally tuned it with. once you have tuned it with that cable though, it store the vehicle info in the cable. if you were to tune again with a different cable, the info would not be in the new cable and you would need credits again.
