Am I suppose to be impressed that a vehicle that was designed to do haggard off-road @!#$ outperformed a vehicle thats not meant to do haggard off-road @!#$? I don't like H2's at all but seriously, this is like comparing apples to oranges imo.

HA HA. That was good. I also hate the H2 with a passion.
My favorite quote " If I wanted I Hummer I would have called your mom."

hehe. YUP

... all the H2 tv/print ads make it look like the off-road
king (in stock form)...... I don't remember any H2 ads
where a soccer mom picks up her kids... they usually
show the H2 in an off-road environment. The way I
see it, don't advertise it if you can't do it.... soo YUPx2

So I just went to hummer.com and checked out the gallery and saw the H2 in some pretty haggard stuff. Now I'm not saying H2s CAN do that @!#$, but how many H2s have you seen off-road with a GOOD driver?

i have yet to see a H2 offroad. i only see them in the city and every now and then on the highway. sorry, no mountain climbing here (at least not legally).

dude. you can do almost anything with any car IF you're
a good driver [but that's a totally different subject] I just
checked the hummer.com gallery again - 90% off-road
pics. People are being misinformed. Jeep always tells
you "this is what you could do with our products", and
they leave the upgrades to your budget/ imagination.
Hummer (sadly) tells you "If the H1 rocks than the H2
can do the same thing right off the dealership lot" That
is soooo wrong.

I mentioned this a while back in another thread, but the
owner of the lot I bought my XJ from was the first guy
in my town to own an H2... that poor beast was always
getting stuck in ditches and its suspension was always
freezing... He was always getting pulled out by Chevy
trucks and Jeeps ... and to add insult to injury, the chevs
and jeeps doing the pulling him weren't haggered
whatevers... they were STOCK ahahahahahahahahaa.

That was good, but yeah, Jeeps were meant to go anywhere and everywhere...the H2 was meant to cross the school's soccer field to get to the baseball diamond...

wow, that silver XJ has insane flex in that one picture. I would of loved to have some of them for desktop backgrounds.

I have been wheeling at times and saw a couple H2's going around. I give the guys props for taking a vehicle like that on the trails. One being how much those things are and two how big they are to maneuver. I am just not cool on the guys that have ego's so far up their ass they think their rig is god's gift to the children.

Have a good one,
Justin

I've owned nothing but Suzuki Jeeps, Samurai and sidekick. my most recent Zuki being the most stock one i've owned. but feel the same about Jeeps. you'll find alot of guys in Jeeps think they have this amazing off-road rockstar right from the dealer. And snicker at my....Geo. even though the Wrangler and Suzuki Sidekick are built the exact same way. both body on frame, both have real 4wd, with 4w-low, and high....both can be lifted, both have narrow overhangs, both can be fitted with lockers, winches, and whatever. But i don't "actually" hate Jeeps just the morons that buy a brand new one slap 33's on it with NO lift have like a 1/2 inch of wheel clearance between the tire and fender....like you'll get awesome suspension flex with a 1/2 inch.

then they go off-roading....on a plain dirt road....whatever, and dare to snicker at my Zuki. i've had a Samurai with a 6inch lift and 33's a full on trail rig and some moron with a jeep like i just described wanted to RACE me. Give me a break.

Now my Loathing for Hummers is deep. where as i respect Jeeps actually hate hummers. not only are they weak trail rigs they are just plain unnecessary. they waste gas, they're horrid MPG are not worth a damn on a trail, to big to enjoy most off-road trails, 98% of them NEVER even so much as see a dirt road yet somehow get street cred as an off-road dynamo...simply because it's related to H1, and the drivers are arrogant because of the ignorance of last statement

simply put i'll respect anyone that seriously off-raods they're rig and from they're experiance knows and respects another who does the same. name brands don't impress me on the trail just people know and will give you a nod at the light. not a snicker like they're "street" poser is the god of off-roading.

i'm not an H2 fan myself but i do have to say that most of the jeeps in that vid were modified where just about all the H2's were stock. put a good driver in the H2 and it might (emphasis on might) be a different story as to how stuck the rig gets.

i've seen jeeps get stuck too...

haha yeah.

but I'd definitely pay to see a yellow H2 rolling over
a landmine... that would be the only time I'd pay to
for anything-H2

You've never seen the commercial where the kid gets dropped off by his mom for his first day of school in a hummer? That one is probably the only use for a H2. If people want to have respect of a Hummer, they need to compare the prices. Hummer=price of Corvette Jeep+upgrades=alot less.

Don't insult my beloved HMMWV by saying that an H2 is related to a HMMWV. There is nothing in common between the little bitch H2 and the HMMWV.

I can't stand the H2, mostly because of what it's done to the Hummer name then anything else. They're just trying to capitalize on the HMMWVs image, and for the retards that buy one it's working.

Hummvee > Jeep ..there, i said it...stock vs stock, you can't beat something purpose built....

Re: Jeep>Hummer rlmfao!!!
Tuesday, August 23, 2005 10:04 PM

....so was the 1940 Willys... it was purpose built for war
like its modern day replacement -- the military Hummer

BUT here's the prob with your statement bro ...

the current generation of Jeep is definitely much closer
to their WWII purpose-built roots than the current retail
grade Hummer (TJ to Willys/ H2 to HMMWV). You can
honestly do more with a wrangler (off-road and even in
parking lots ahahahah) than in an H2.... I always get a
good chuckle when I see an H2 try to reverse into a
parking lot. Moreso, the Wrangler is more competent at
a much lower price than the H2. Lets be honest with
ourselves; history probably wouldn't have the same
appreciation for the cheap+light willys if it was built and
COST like an H2.... haha we might be speaking German
right now, and debating how the Gwagon can take us to
a kraftwerk concert faster than a VW thing.

so it's just in time for the 1940's?

Re: Jeep>Hummer rlmfao!!!
Wednesday, August 24, 2005 6:27 PM

sorry man... I gave a lousy explanation

I meant to say.... You could take a 2005 TJ back into the
1940's... mass produce a stripped version cheap, and
still win a war with it (because a commercial Jeep TJ
is, STILL, purpose built to this date).

BUT you couldn't take a 2005 H2 back into the 1940s,
mass produce a stripped version cheap and win a war
with it (because a commercial H2 is NOT purpose built).

The TJ is NOT an insult to its willys roots. The H2 is a
real slap in the face to the Military H1.... Now kraftwerk
concert anyone
