What do you guys think about the hyundai tiburon? thnx

(ps- not that I'm looking to buy a car, I'm very happy with my sunfire ... just always liked the way they look and decided to look them up online and with 175hp, seems like a nice ride for the price ... especially with hyundai always doing stuff like 0% financing 10 year warranty, etc)

03+ v6's

are absolutely AWESOME

personally seen stock 03 gtv6's 6 sppeds at the track run 15.1

they are INSANELY responsive to mods. many compare it to how a v8 responds to intake and exhaust mods. and that is VERY VERY GOOD

some people say with i/e you can keep up with mustang gt's from a roll.

10 year warranty

Nice, I haven't heard that before about being so responsive to mods. Seems pretty cool that a company like Hyundai that offers good incentives is comming out with a sportier car ... just something about the way the lines on that car flow really appeals to me. Has a nice aggressive look to it IMO.

Really? I heard the V6 was brittle and unreliable to mod.

I'm just repeating heresay. I'll look it up when I get a chance.

well id be repeating hearsay aswell but i was told the I4 tiburon was more responsive and less prone to have transmission problems under heavy modification, than the v6

the 4 cyl from what i've seen at their forum is a much more mod-friendly motor... that being said, i test drove an 04 v6 and loved it.. the interior is gorgeous, rides fantastic, very peppy. i'd love to have one

I saw a video of a SRT4 with a 3" exhaust and an intake racing a S/C Tiburon and that Tiburon hauled some serious a$$, it was only running 6-7psi plus boltons. Unlike the SRT4 which "supposedly" ran 11.5psi on the first run and something like 19psi on the second run. I think it was posted on here maybe a couple weeks ago.

The stories of the v-6 being weak and all that other mess was all b.s. Next Gen Motorsports proved you could take a v-6 tibby over 300 horses on a stock engine and not break anything. Essentially the 4 cyl has been being used by Hyundai as a race motor for quite a few years so the aftermarket support in the beginning was much stronger and was known for being "bulletproof". Once the v-6 platform was on the market, a number of companies make an endless supply of parts for them.
The 2.7 v-6 takes ridiculously well to mods. I have seen reports of an AEM cai alone giving 18whp. There are also a number of 6-speeds in the 13's on all motor setups and a autos in the low to mid 14's. Not too bad considering the cars are over 3,000 pounds.
My g.f. has an 03 v-6 and with the minor bolt-ons it has its a very fun car to drive.

Thats sweet, man ... does doing things like putting on an after market intake/exhaust/etc negate the 10 year warranty?

When my g/f's car went in for warranty work they said any part that is modified is no longer under warranty, but anything left stock is covered.
