I picked up a motorcycle ('73 Triumph Bonneville) last year from one of my dad's friends and we're in the process of restoring the majority of it. We're working on the gas tank right now and the bike sat for a long time (10 years+) and there's alot of gunk at the bottom of the tank. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the gunk? We already tried cleaning it out with newer gas and it didn't work. Any advice would be great.

Call up a local radiator shop and ask them about having it cleaned.
They sell some stuff to clean it out, but I can't remember off hand what the name of it is.
ether/carb cleaner will do the job
We used some Acetone and it got it out. I'll have to post some pics when it's all together. Right now the frame is sitting on the floor and the rest of the parts are scattered around the garage. Since I'm going to college I'll only be able to work on it on weekends but it shouldn't be long til it's finished.
