The fiercely competitive pickup segment is making Chevrolet to put a fresh face on its 2006 Silverado, even though it will introduce an extensively re-engineered and restyled version for the 2007 model year.
You are going to see a new grille treatment that gives it a little bit bolder front end.
Also expect to have some new advertising that supports it that will be very clever, very creative.
Sorry but no pics yet.

so let me get this straight. GM is fiercely competitive
about its pickup truck market even though it lost one
billion dollars in a single quarter (promoting trucks) ?
Isn't that equivalent to arguing over whose going to
sit in the front seat of car that's hurdling at 150mph
into a brick wall?

^^^
they didn't lose that money just from promoting trucks
[quote=TRD 901-Z™]screw the trucks lol
that's what im sayin. if it werent for the stupid trucks and GM's infatuation with them, the zeta platform would probably still be going and we would be looking forward to a new GTO, and possibly a Camaro rather than a "facelift" for the Silverado.

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

chevy's problem is rather than get serious and fix their problems they'd rather just hold out hope and blindly keep going...hoping they come out of it alright.
it's like trying to pump the water out of the Titanic without fixing the hole first...they are idiots. or running through an ambush hoping to NOT get shot.
it blows my mind these people running this huge company make millions a year, and have no common sense. The fact they hold high end exectutive jobs and lack any sense of reality is very disturbing.
YOU MAKE CRAPPY PRODUCT, fix the problem not the grilles of your 2006 trucks.

They gotta take one step at a time, and this is a relatively inexpensive way to hopefully sell more trucks. Hope it works

Words that you can't use in modding: Finished, Perfect, Cheap.
They need to not focus so much on the Truck and SUV lines and more on the sport and passenger car line. The Cobalt and the Malibu were a good start. Cadillacs line up are a good start, and the Pontiac Lineup is a good start. Now just keep going.
they have been putting more focus on the cars acctually......they have that new commercial devoted to just their cars, i dont ive ever seen that from GM before
i work for Delphi. they build alot of the car parts for gm. our company lost 4.5 billion dollars last year. so that figure is very belivable. and yes i still have a job. but for how long?

I guess i'm the only who here who loves chevy trucks. They've always and still sell very well. I'm would love to see pics of the new look.

oh, dont get me wrong, i love chevy trucks. but i also love chevy cars... especially fast rwd ones. what i dont like is that the focus on trucks is keeping us from our nice rwd cars.

Considering that the Silverado and Sierra sales combined make it the best selling vehicle in America, I'd say that GM has a good reason to concentrate on their trucks. And the Full-size Truck segment is one of the most competitive segments in the Industry. With Dodge re-designing the Ram for 2006 and introducing the Mega Cab, GM needs to do something to keep interest in their trucks until the brand new ones get introduced for 2007.

I have to agree with that...
Gm needs to take care of their bread and better first.
I'd rather see GM make some money so that we get a nice Camaro and Chevelle in
a few years...not a half-assed one.
It takes money to build good products....
Screw the cars....
This is wha it is going to look like:
It is going to carry the 2005 Silverado HD's grille across the line for 2006.

Dear christ, they didn't ditch the ugly-ass flared headlights. *sigh* More of the same from the General.
I think they look a hell of a lot better in person. My dads looks just like the marroon one (w/ the white ones grill) and looks mean as hell in person.

I think its a good idea... I've always liked the look of the HD front. I still think that the Silverado is and will still be the best looking truck on the market.

X2
but I think they need to make shortbed-regular cab-1500 with a ls-2 and a 6-speed.That would own the "Hemi" trucks nicely.
