Not that bad of a car. It moves (V6 model.) You get a one wheel peel out when you do a burn out (booo.) The Rockford system is not bad but I'm not digging the center console display. It took me a minute to see what station I was at. Too much info on the display. The guages are tiny but it wasn't too bad of a problem. It handles very well. As good as my Z24 with all the suspension parts I have. The shifter feels very tight but looks cheap. It has a fake metal (makes it look like a RWD) tranny showing throught the center console. Knowing that the car is FWD does not make me think the RWD tranny trim showing is very cool. I like the Chrome lip spoiler and the way the tails look. The back seat is tiny though. Smaller than a Z24. I'm 6'3" and I can fit in the front seat very well. Seats are very supportive and soft.
All and all, I very good car, Not my style but I very good car.
Tomarrow I get to test drive the Charger R/T. Looking forward to it.

yea i dont really like the looks of the eclipse at all, but hopefully they did enough homework to make this car succesful and bring mitsu some sales again
i might take one out for a spin tho for the heck of it
lol I just joined this site because my fiancee drives a 2002 sunfire, and we're both into working on our cars...so the first thing I post in is a discussion about the new eclipse. I own a 2001 Eclipse Spyder and have heard a lot about the new Eclipse...the funny thing is that most everyone that owns a 3rd generation eclipse (or any eclipse at all for that matter) doesn't like the 4th generation one (the 2006 just coming out). They like the new V6 but wish it was FI, they wish it was RWD, and they can't stand the looks of it...I dunno. I think it looks too much like a Nissan or Infiniti now.
As for it not being RWD, why does everyone complain that all the sport compacts are FWD pretty much? If you want RWD, go buy a mustang or GTO (or if you're in the used car market, a camaro/firebird). more power without any modding to boot.
I'm not complaining about it being FWD. I'm complaining that they made a fake tranny looking thing in the center console that gives it the impression on being RWD.
i dont think thats what they had in mind my friend^^^ i'm sure its for brake lines and wiring underneath.
