I will consider a New or Used car, Auto or Manual. Has to be a car, no SUV or truck. Decent mileage ( 26mpg+ highway rating) 4dr or 2dr
I'm looking at
Cobalt
Mazda6 Used
Mazda3 New
Nissan Altima New
Hyundai Tiburon New
For used cars, I don't know what to consider...less than 25k miles a must.
Suggestions?

Whats a grandma v6?.. lol
Definitely check out the Chevy Cobalt. Very nice car (huge improvement over the J-body) and fun to drive with the 5-speed.
I priced out a Cobalt LS Coupe on CarsDirect, came out to $17,300 with
every option, including Sunroof, Sport Package, Leather interior, 5-speed, 16in wheels, and 7-speaker stereo with MP3 playback. The only options I didn't include were the Side impact airbags and OnStar.
The
CarsDirect price for the LS Coupe without any extra options is $15,189. Just price it out with options you like, and see what you come up with.
Other than the Cobalt, I would also consider the Mazda 3 and Scion tC, both are very nice cars for the money.

Ion-3 new, or a used redline..
Dark blue 2002 Z24, 2.4 Ltr.
Test drive something with an LS1 in it
Scion TC, if you drive it you will want it i guarantee.
From your list, Id say a tiburon, or a mazda 3 as the scond choice

I say tibby from the list. Otherwise a Scion TC. I love those cars
I would compare warranties and how easy it would be to do maintenance on the cars.
I know hyundias have a great warranty and a gravy to work on, stay away from the Automatics. i worked on these at the dealer for two years, they have little problems.
I have a Mazda 6 i and it has been reliable, But it is a lease and the only thing I've done to it is change oil and rotate tires. But in my area the oil filters are dealer only which sucks. There warranty is ok
The coltbalt might be a good car but Gm warranties sucks, I don't no how hard they are to service or how reliable.
I've also worked on Nissians at a dealer and I don't know there warranty but they are hard to work on and parts are expensive. But they are really good cars.
i love my 6 when the lease is up I'm buying a tribute or what ever it is the cross platform suv thing. With the same four banger I have in my 6. I will be having kids soon and it is alos better for hualing them and the dogs around. The 6 is really rooming and is quick for a four banger my only complaint is it has a lot of bump steer, and I live in Michigan and have a lot of bumps. Also it sucks in snow, but with some steel fifteens for winter it should be ok, I have the low pro tires and 17's now so that is my snow problem.
hope that helps,
Also the tibs with the low pro tires suck in snow too, but that can be fixed with winter wheels witha bigger side wall tire.

you could buy like 34 Geo metros at 500 bucks each and crash them into eachother!!! A full size bumper car arena!

Im gonna suggest tc....the limited edition one
thanks guys
i drove a mazda6 4-banger and i noticed it was ALL over the road when i went over a bump section, i amost thought there was an alignment problem (it was used) plus the automatic seemed to stretch out in between gear shifts (it was smooth thogh) it had some kind of tiptronic which was okay but the car didnt wow me. im really critical of cars now, even though i had a sunfire. i pick out all the idiosycracies
i looked at the scion tc...haven't thought much about it
i looked at mazda3 its pretty high up there on the list
tiburon is number one,the I6 version...most likely used. i like the 10/100,000mile warranty
possibly a golf? or jetta?

dude if you're interested in a VW. go with passats. you can get a used one 2002 or 2003, certified, with warranty 2 year 24k bumper to bumper.
you can probably find one with less then 25K miles for around that price...
i bough an 03 passat gls, LOADED, heated seats, heated mirrors, sunroof, alloy wheels, 8 airbags, certified with warranty 2 year 24k miles, with 2 year roadside assistance....
car had 67K miles, most highway, i paid $13,000...
make sure you shop around, do test drives, call dealerships (easiest way to go)...
...good luck!
^^^be careful with that warranty.....ive herd from a few people they make it almost impossible to get ANYTHING fixed on those cars
hm.... u could get an accord. the new ones are nice but it weighs like 3000 lbs. Could get a civic with a turbo or b18c swap or h22a1 swap but i'm not a big fan of civics since too many ppl with fart cans around think they gained 500 hp or something. But if modded right those things are fast.
i would stay away from VW

and I see you now what I mean about the bump steer, man it is annoying damn double wish bones. i would go with the tib the 2.7 is a great engine.
