It is removable and basically it just controls all of my audio and send the signal to the amplifiers. There's a couple programs out there that is for the ipad/iphone that will monitor the car and add different types of gauges but for now it is just acting as a head unit.
Since it is removable I can also use my iPhone there if I do not want to bring the iPad.

I'm surprised how much output it has for it being an 8. It's nothing crazy but it has a lot of punch and will hit those low notes really well.
