Toyota - 17.2%
GM - 16.5%
Ford - 14.3%
Nissan 9.1%
I guess 0% financing makes alot of people forget about "faulty mechanicals and computers"

Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
Anyone can sell cars by giving them away at no profit...someone has to pay to finance them, even if it's not the customer...in this case, it's Toyota.
I suppose that was the only option left for Toyota at this time:
Fortunately, that explains the blip as they lose their shirts to temporarily steal market share. Oh, and
GO FORD!

Very true, GM has been doing so for years with 0% for 72 months, employee pricing for everyone, $3-$6000 rebates. We learned from the best. Our resale values may suffer a lil, but thats the price we had to pay.
And I 100% agree with you....Ford is doing awesome...they will take over #2 in market share over GM and very very slightly behind Toyota

Fact is, Ford pulled well ahead of Toyota when the "Toyotathon of Death" broke big, and will likely also stay there once the "giveaway" is over. It's ironic...Toyota has tried everything in their power for years to overtake GM for the #1 spot, never quite could, and just when it all looked brightest...wham! Now they're proud to be #3 as they give away cars just to stay there.
Further good news for the domestic auto industry is contained in another thread I just started, and also in the fact that GM will pay back its loans to the government this year. Sweet.
I have to admit...I never thought I'd have the satisfaction of watching a Toyota employee being proud to emulate a struggling GM's tactics, but you have made today a very nice day for me. It is truly a wonderful time for the domestic auto industry again. Thank you!

You said it yourself Bill, Toyoda always wanted to be GM. Now they are....I guess it's true....be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Your welcome Bill, anything I can do to put a smile on your face. By the way...I'm not proud of it, don't get me wrong we had to do it, because of some mistruth's, not everything was a mistruth, but there were quite a few! What about when we were beating GM without crazy incentives...that had to suck a little. Oh and GM should beat us month in and month out, thier product line almost triples ours when you include Chevy, GM, Buick, Caddy, Saturn/Hummer/Saab/Pontiac(no longer). We only have Toyota, Scion (not a huge percent of sales) and Lexus. So we'll see at the end of this year how they do with only thier 4 core brands. Should be a pretty interesting race...also considering we dont have a Heavy Duty lineup which is a decent percent of the sales mix for them too. Did you know the Tacoma outsells the next 3 competitors in its segment combined? How many GM's can say that?

Oh, I don't care to get into a pissing match over it....comparing now to then, or this to that, is so full of varied factors that it just leads to perpetual "you suck / no YOU suck" threads. I am too busy these days to care that much about that little.
Been there, done that, am already using the T-shirt to polish wheels!
