http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/toyota_recall This is big for us GM guys as well do to the fact that the same electronic power steering unit that is made by Jtect (which is owned by toyoda a division of Toyota) is also used in the Ions, cobalts, malabus, aura all have this same problem which is power steering loss. If you go back and look manny people have been trying to get this resolved, and GM has not done anything about it. So if this recall dose happen and I think it will, and hopefully GM will do the recall as well. Ive been talking with a guy from the NHTSA and they said there as been an investigation on this problem sence 2007. And when some people thought all the trubbles for Toyota where over Bam they get hit again. The only reason I am wanting this done is because I have this problem with my Cobalt and GM wants me to pay $120 to get it diagnosed then another $1300 to fix it and with a little one on the way I dont have that kinda money. So how many of you cobalt owners have this problem.

Yikes. 34 reported dead so far. I wonder how many instances have been reported overall...I can't imagine that fatalities are common with this unintended acceleration fault, at least I'd like to think it's like a one-in-a-thousand chance one would die in such circumstances. If so, that would mean 34,000 reports if those are the odds of dying in such an incident.
Anyone know how many reports of unintended acceleration has been reported in Toyotas overall?

my G5 GT has not shown any signs of it and i have 50k on it and its a 2007 also.
