i usually never look at any car hat has 70/80,000 miles on them....
but this causght my eye, and im in love with it....price is iffy to me tho....
its from a local dealer, and has 106,XXX miles on it...
i test drove it, and its amazing! i dont like the amount of miles on it tho!
and i dont like the price....only wanted to spend 4-5g's and this is $6,995
also the guy i talked to about it said that the original timing setup was replaced at 100,000k
but he has no reciepts when he traded it in, so they dont know if he really did or not. also it is sold as is..
so that makes me a little worried....but ANYONE KNOW ALOT ABOUT HONDAS? IS THIS A GOOD CAR?
WILL IT LAST WELL PAST THE 100K ITS AT NOW? HOW RELIABLE ARE PRELUDES? IS IT WORTH $6G'S?
im obviously gonna try to talk them down from $6,995. what do u guys honestly think it should be worth/what i should pay for it?
if they take 5,500 for it i would prolly be happy. but dunno if i could go that low on a used car with no trade in, unless they take a smashed [non salvage] cavy as trade........
Hondas hold value very well. Ive been looking around and have seen cars with 250,000 miles and a decent body going for $3k.
my buddy just picked up one of these for like 4k. He likes it alot. I havn't riden in it yet but it looks nice. 80k isn't that much.
I've always like those. Price seems a little high to me though, but if you could talk him down a little, I say go for it!
* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *
unless its a type sh its slow. and even then its not fast, a stock z24 should be able to beat one. lude's weigh like 3000 lbs. my friend has a sh and my stock sohc ka s13 was dead even with it on the highway till 120. get a integra there cheaper and have alot more aftermarket support.

i just picked up my 95 integra ls with 296000 on it for 1700 bucks and it still runs fine, as long as you do your scheduled maintenance, and definetly dont run it low on oil, it should last pretty long.
But back to the car, it looks pretty clean, but like ^^^ he said integras have way more aftermarket support, and with 4-5k you can easily find a nice ls, or a gs, and maybe a GSR. but thats just my 2 cents
I've always wanted a Prelude, but everytime I found one that I liked, they were always asking way to much for it. Car looks damn nice, if you can talk them down a lttle on the price, that would be golden.
Good luck!
it's not a sh...it's an automatic base model with the manual mode. I'm not looking for fast car just a nice car to drive and that's better than my cav. and like I said i love the way the car drives and handled when I test drove it. the ride was super comfortable too. the only mods im prolly gonna end up doing are intake and exhaust not really lookin to race it. and it's got 106,000 on it not 80,000. don't wanna get an integra I love the way 'ludes look!!!
Do not get it!
Those automatic slapstick transmissions in the Prelude suck donkey dick, and they are NOT cheap to replace.

so by saying they are not cheap to replace...do u mean they WILL break??
looks pretty god damn clean to me.

Schaffer wrote:drop 5 grand and get an eco cav.

5-6 for any 2000-02
and 4-5 for 95-99's
for BASE MODELS
LS SPorts even more!
would love an ECO LS Sport
but, yeah, im not paying 7,000 for a cavalier!

ohio plz!!!! not willing to drive outta state, or more than 2-3 hours for a car!
also anyone with an unlimited carfax account, can u hook me up if i PM u the vin?
i would get the prelude over a cav. specially if thats an SH but since you said base then guess not. plus SH models have the non blade looking five spoke rims. but it looks like he either has the oem optional lip kit or aftermarket. either way around here preludes start around 4k then just go way up haha
the carfax said it wasnt hit and you like it buy it. 106000 miles is alot
carnivorous mouse wrote:the carfax said it wasnt hit and you like it buy it. 106000 miles is alot
106k alot? no where near. most that are around 4k in price have near 200k already.
carnivorous mouse wrote:the carfax said it wasnt hit and you like it buy it. 106000 miles is alot
i wanna have someone look at the carfax, just the dealer said it hasnt been in an accident they know of or anything.
thats y i want someone to carfax it for me, just to see. idk if i trust the dealer....a dealer neglected to tell my friend his sunfire he bought was in an accident before...and it ended up being a $9,000 turd!!! the dealer he went to literally ripped him a new one!

yes, this is NOT a prelude SH, its just a base model with an OEM Honda lip kit and wing.
and the auto tranny with manual shift option.
I think it's really clean looking, hit them with a low ball offer and see what they come back with. I have always liked that style prelude, just a really nice looking car.

Thats because this isn't a cheap economy car like a civic or a cavalier. The preludes are VERY nice and I do the way they look.
They are pricey though they hold their value well. He is asking too much but if you get him down its not bad.
The other guy is right though, those auto's suck in that car. They do break and they are expensive. To top it all they don't hold power at all. You say now you don't want to do anything to it, but just wait until the bug kicks in and I promise you it will. The aftermarket support for those H series motors has really opened up. I hope you're serious about only wanting intake and exhaust because with that auto behind that H22 thats as far as you'll be able to go.
Oh, and don't go on a Chevy forum asking for advice on mileage on a Honda. If it was maintained even fairly well its not even halfway through its life. They will run forever. Whether you're a honda fan or not you have to admit they run like a cham for many many miles.
