I think that's crazy cool! Nice work so far.
There is an outfit that's done some transmission adapters to use the Ecotec in RWD applications like this. Have him contact me if he'd like their info.
Of course, he's also got the option of using the transmissions from Solstice and Sky...although they do require some engine tilt to function properly. His straight-up engine position may be better suited to an aftermarket solution like the adapters.

I want to say the company that makes a t5 adapter for the eco is called quad for rods iirc.
Good call! Here's the option you mention:
Quads for Rods
This is a full bellhousing...very clean solution for anything that does not require a scattershield-type housing (such as a drag-raced car).
The adapter plates I mention would allow the use of other available bellhousings and scattershields from more common engines, and so represent a slighly different approach. I'll see if I can find them and I'll post up.
I happen to be working these very items out myself right now, as I adapt a G-force 5-speed into my new Solstice project.

Here are the folks who did an Ecotec adapter plate for a Scarab-replica project car we did a few years back:

This was the car...very cool!

trying not to thread jack but, are the kappa trannys bellhousing pattern the same as a f23. and ive heard things about using a f40, just never any real solid info.
ive also been searching for info on 2-3speed powerglides with a 4g63 or a housing adapter for a 350 turbo,400r,700r?

Yes, Kappa is same pattern as L61, so it should bolt to an F23/35. I am not familiar with F40...can you add some detail?
I don't know of any available adaptors for the 4G63, but keep searching...they may be out there.

been chopped and noched most likely, but i havent seen a stock s10 frame in years.
That is something I've aways wanted to see, a dohc engine in an s10. Looks like it's gona be a pretty sick truck.

+1 for being different
sorry but...
SBC > ecotec.

12.5@116 2.0 60ft
anyone done this in a 2000 style S10?
i got a chance to pick up a 2000, but i wanna keep it looking stock.
not all drag racing like this. that would be raw! could deff be my next project
would stock tranny work from a cav?

you think
4 bangers in s series suck.
I'm sure this guy knows about dropping a SBC, or a Gen III or greater engine. I don't think this guy is going for speed with his set up, and with a show truck and airbags like this guy has a SBC would almost be impractical. Not everyone wants or needs a V8, hell was looking at old imports the other day and was thinking the same thing said above about a vega or an opel gt. Seems more challenging to put a newer 4 banger in.
