I remember that car from the Z forums. When everyone was going crazy about wanting a targa top. If i remember the guy correctly, id never buy a car from him...
Um... he hacked the roof off and didn't bother making a panel to replace it when it rains outside?
How did that cost $5000? A $25 sawzall and blade and 1 hour of boxing it in with welds and a grinder would have done that job. He doesn't list any restructuring at all, either.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
I want some of that "Custom Pain" that cost $15k. Honestly, I'm a bit saddened it's from Tulsa but not all that shocked by it.

purely show car man.. it doesn't even have a hatch to cover the audio in the back... this thing is just a trailer queen car youd see at the major shows.. inside a building no doubt
I like it, but it's highly unpractical
looking at it i can see justifiacations for the cost. it appears that the kit may be moulded on. , it could possibly have 5k in bodywork.
targa top cost seems inflated, i could see 5k if it came with a top. but since they just finished it off i'd say that price should be cut in half.
paintwork a good paintjob that goes into the jams etc depending on how many coats of base and clear you have you can easily reach the 15k range.
audio install looks pretty in deapth, hard to judge quality from small pics but if its high quality work i can see a 15k pricetag.
price of stereo equipment seems a bit inflated. allot inflated actually.
chances are he's taking the highest found costs on everything to make it high, wich is what most people would do.

107k is a pretty good cashdown on a Porsche 911 GT3. But that's just me.

107k was not what he was asking.. notice he put hte price of the cost of the time of purchase and not current value?
The price of the audio gear was the part that caught my anntention. The rest of it may be pretty close to true. But 35k for some RE subs and and coupla sets of RE comps.
RE makes awsome products, they dont cost that much though.
Id go so far as to say if one HAD to spend 35k on RE/US Amps gear, a 350 isnt big enough to hold it all.

the point of the post was that 107k could've been spent much wiser, especially if he's only gonna get 20k back.
Check out my build thread!
This is true. But everyone here knows he didnt even put 107k into it. He prbly bought it with it all already done anyways and dont even know how much was put into it.
And as for the audio... there is no way in hell it costed 35k. Even if he had a interior shop do all the FGing and install all the audio it would all still prbly come out around 10-15k for materials and labor.

for what looks like quality of work on that fiberglassing the install could have easily ran him 15k.
for those that question the wisdom of the money invested, it really all depends on the amount of work the companies generated from showing the car. if it generated enough business the car as a whole could be a profit for him. the car was built to generate business, not for joe schmoe to cruise to the dairy queen for an ice cream. two diffrent things.

and i said 10-15k.
But it is true... someone could buy it.... throw a few sponsorship decals on it.... show it.... and make some money.
