1996 Mazda Miata. Exterior is a bit rough, but for 2500 I couldn't pass this up. 114K miles, PEP package, I plan on painting it either Black or a dark Cherry Red but I'm undecided at this point. What do you guys think?
It'll mostly be my weekend/summer car. I've decided to keep my 00 cav for the winter.

My vote is for the dark cherry. I think it compliments the color of the top better and would make it easier to sell when the time does come.

Lol, no thanks. v8 would mess up the weight distribution and mess up the awesome handling that I'm growing to love. If anything, I'm probably going to put some bolt-ons and be done performance wise. If I get brave I may turbo it.

Thanks for the comments guys. First order of business is getting some new and really sticky tires, and repairing/replacing the little spots on the interior that are rough.

A V8 miata would be rediculously expensive and would kinda defeat the whole purpose of them BUT on the other hand i <333 the picture of the miata that they have as their title photo. Looks a lot like a rx7.... and i <333 rx 7s. lol

nice...i love miatas. My Dad has an '02 special edition in yellow metallic with a black top.
For yours, I'd go with cherry though as it would be something different.
However, if you want my professional opinion, this is what you should do to it. This is a local car that runs SCCA with is. It is an absolute BEAST. Husband and wife team, the wife is a multi-time national champion.

And as much as I'd like to paint it cherry red, I think I'm gonna go with black instead. It was the original color, and would prevent me from having to spend the extra money to paint the inside of the door panels, engine bay, etc.
New tires arrived today, so far the only things I've done with it are drop in a new K&N filter, and smoke the hell out of the old crusty tires, lol. Drifting is fun. :-)
It's getting to be winter soon, which means it's gonna go in the garage and the cav becomes the dd. And that means lots of time putting new toys into the miata.
