gave the camaro a little old school bling

well, the front of the RS camaros is a little boring with the wide grill. so i decided to fix it up a little. ordered a '69 RS badge on ebay, and put it on today. very happy with the way it looks now. it was a PITA to put on there, but well worth it.

and a few of the before shots so you can see the difference

next up im gonna get some clear turn signals and i'll be done with the front of the car until winter when it'll get a new fender, new lip on the bottom, and hopefuly be getting prepped for paint

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

I hate the way I always see these camaro's with the front lip flattened and pointing down...People get too close to parking blocks it seems

I like it. It looks like something GM should have done, which is what the best mods should look like.

So you restoring that or did you buy it that clean?

It's hard to find IROC era F-bodies that arnt piles of crap (at least around here)

Nice looking car..... build that up to be as fast as the new ones (or faster) and it would be kick ass..

Or you see them with a section of missing paint along the bottom front bottoming the lip out.

I like it. I like the little simple mods.

got it exactly how it sits minus the RS in the grill and tinted turn signals. the turn signals were just a quick fix to the normal oxidation problem, it'll be getting clears soon. and yes, very upset about the ground effect on the bottom of the bumper. it's getting a new one, along with passenger fender this winter, and hopefuly paint this spring. it's a definite 20 footer. but it's an '89 with no rust, and mostly straight body (minus the one fender). so i cant be upset.

so it seems that people either like it, or dont mind it. works for me!

I like the car, but instead of adding the RS logo, I would have gone for replacing the grill with the IROC insert and fogs. Personally I always liked that look better.

Ever consider getting the sealed beam conversion lights that give you a more updated reflector and a clear lense? They make them for those that take 9000 series bulbs (IIRC, thought they might take H series bulbs, now that I think about it). It's a subtle upgrade that gives it a little bit of an updated look, while giving you a very good improvement in night visibility.

i like the RS grill. i dont want an iroc clone (the wheels are stock on the car, you could order the '89 RS with iroc wheels) im not into false advertisement... though im considering swapping to the '90-92 ground effects.

as for the sealed beams, i dont think i'll probably do that. i just want a few subtle mods, some paint, then it's back to the go fast parts.
