Help, Does my S-10 have a bad ground?
Friday, June 26, 2009 6:51 PM
In the past week, 3 things have stopped working on my 00 S-10 pickup.

-Fuel Gauge
-Electronics on Gauge Cluster (Tripometer and Shift Indicator)
-Cruise Control

I'm assuming its a bad ground wire. Where would I locate it, does anyone know?

There should be a grounding strap. It usually goes from the block to the frame. On an S10 I don't know exact location. It should be pretty easy to locate though. If you can't don't mess with it. Go to Autozone pick up one of those fat grounding straps. They're only a few bucks. Hook it to a good bolt on the block and another on something solid, IE frame. Its not really worth trouble shooting that they're cheap and wont hurt if its not a ground. You can also hook from another car with just the ground on jumper cables to your vehicle.
