My other car...a 2007 Mustang Pony Package
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 5:11 PM
I wanted to take a second and post my other car that I only drive when it's nice out, usually to car shows. It's a 2007 Mustang Pony Package with leather, My Color display (shows over 120 different display colors for the instrument panel), Shaker 500 w stereo, JBA shorty headers, Rousch hood scoop and custom paint, custom side stripes, BamaChips SCT Performance Tune, plus many other goodies.

v6= cheaper insurance and lots of sweet turbo or supercharger kits. My goal, when it's paid off, is to go with an X-Charger from Explorer Express. Nevertheless, this car is much faster than the 5-speed 94 GT I had a while back. I do agree about the mirrors being painted, it's on the list.

Don't get me wrong, if the V6 fits you and is what you want, that's great. I would just prefer to start at the very least with the 5.4 3v that ALSO has turbo and supercharger options If you are over 25 and don't have a million speeding tickets and such, insurance shouldn't be that big of a difference. That argument is moot.

Looking at the pic again, I am really not a fan of the chrome gas door. It is way too shiny and stands out. I would personally prefere color matched handles and possibly a brushed aluminum gas door or stock.

The vortech kit for the 4.0 makes it a quite potent little pony, its good to see these days that they are making the v6 versions of the Camaro and Mustang not completely gutless and ugly, but affordable with the looks of the higher models.

How much does this package run over MSRP?

The question has to be asked:
Why buy a brand new v6 mustang, and only drive when it's nice out and to car shows? I get that to you it's a special car, but that little amount of driving is usually done with......rare cars... how many 'pony package' mustangs do you think there are exactly? Not that I agree with getting a car to only park and look at, but really...whats the point?

^^^I agree with his statement. If it was something more than the base model with some added bits and a name (Think Cavalier Z22 or Sunfire Sun and Sound package) and didn't look like the 100k other Mustangs on the road it would be show worthy.

I've worked hard for it, love it, and I thought that some "car" people on here may appreciate a young woman taking care of a nice car. Evidently I'm wrong. I do not have to drive it everyday because I have beater cars. Sorry it's not up to all of your expectations.

Irrelevant that you are a female. Many are probably, like me, wondering why you picked an accessory package versus a better....well....engine/susp. My brother was looking at one too. (his salesman was very eager to sell this "package", even talking him out of the GT on the lot. Wonder why? Oh yeah... matching floormats and shiny gas doors have nice mark ups.

It is a nice looking car, but buying a sports car with an underpowered V6 is like buying a Cadillace with stiff-hard racing seats. Just not supposed to be that way.

But hey, don't let a bunch of guys driving entry level compact cars, discourage your from your new car that you obviously are very proud of.

Geez don't take it to heart.
I get that you are taking good care of what I DO think is a very nice car. But my point stands, WHY is it a garage queen? My 68 is getting to be on the rare side, but that will NEVER stop me from driving it as many miles as I can and enjoying it whatever the cost. A car sitting in the garage is just a waste. That it's a v6 is a minor gripe. Had you said it was a Shelby I think I'd still criticize you, but being a run of the mill v6....the question still is what's the point?

However, as long as you like it, who cares what the F-ck we think? do what you like. And quit with the Gender card already...nobody cares if you have a penis or vagina.

To be honest, I didn't even look at your name when I posted. It doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man, I have issues with "show only" cars.

ugh. I will proudly be the 3rd person to say this... We aren't out to use the internet to get pussy, nor are we trying to praise or impress chicks on here. You being a "young lady" is not going to change how we act. You should be happy to not get special treatment, OR you could pull the gender card whenever you feel the need to get praised by guys who can't get girls in real life....

well you have to understand that "underpowered" is a hard label to place on this V6, after all in 1994 the precious 5.0 GT mustang with a V8 only made the same power as the current V6 in this car

Not digging the handles, or hte mirrors, but hey, who am I to judge.

As far as it being a "nice weather" only car, I really don't see an issue with it. If someone goes out, and drops good coin on a car (even if to others its a waste), then why not take the best care of it they can? Personally, its not something I would do (I would of gone GT), but I do see and understand the reasoning behind what you are doing.

that's the thing. No matter what others think, anything can mean something to them enough to be a fair weather only car. My roommate has a 2001 Mustang V6 convertible. He did a couple tiny mods like a light bar, and he only drives it in the summer. It is the first car he bought with his own money and it is paid off. I see nothing wrong with taking good care of it.

if she doesn't have need for the v8 then it doesnt make any sence to pay extra money for something that isn't high on your priority list, it doesnt make any sence to pay money for something you don;t nessicarily care about. as for the fair weather car. why do people get all bent out of shape when someone wants to take care of their car. those of us that do have fair weather cars usually have them for allot of years and 10 years down the line they still look good, their not ratted out, worn down and in need of replacement. it doesnt have to be rare to enjoy it.
