If you could pick any car under $30k that is currently (or will be shortly) available, what would it be?
I'm so incredibly picky about cars that I honestly don't know if I can nail it down. Which is probably why, after all these years, I'm still driving a J....I simply gave up looking!

new STi hatch or Lexus IS(350 if it comes in under 30K)
find a slightly used G8 GT. you'll be happy.
Desert Tuners

Take a peek at the WRX. It comes just under 30,000 nicely equipped. I am in love with those cars. AWD helps in your neck of the woods also during the winter
I can't say the WRX isn't near the top of my list but I also have some problems with it:
a) I hate the new body style and finding an older style with low miles that hasn't had the piss beat out of it is next to impossible.
b) I will be a home owner in the next few months and I'll need something for those back and forth home depot trips.
There's just so much about different cars I want but I can't get them all in one. I want the practicality of a truck or SUV but I'm not ready to give up having a toy in a sport compact.

Accord Coupe V6 6speed w/o Navigation
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
easy answer....buy 04-06 gto+ sts or a magna charger...then buy a @!#$ty 80's pickup to do the house projects. and keep the J for dd
If I had to stay under 30k, prob the V6 Camaro loaded, then turbo it

im honestly shocked you didnt say Cobalt
50-60's pick up, resto-modded
You can still find very low mileage 07 or 06 sti's, and you can't go wrong with and Evo ever.
I would also suggest the GTO, again the body may look plain but theres a hell of a car right there
Low mileage C5 corvettes will last for a long time
Bmw 3 series, you would be surprised the quality of the car you could get for around 29k, just look!
Those are my suggestions!
my cavi and put the money towards a house =D
But since I live in Wi probably a WRX Wagon, reliable, awd, and room for my stuff, and a snowboard rack =D
Lanman31337 -F = fatties = do not want. A little chunk in the junk is ok though.
if you are not paying cash for the house and the car, then you do not have to money to get either, but if you still get the house, do not spend 30k you dont have on a car. Remember financing and everything else you would be paying. If you have 30k to pay for the car cash, put it into the house.
That is where the money needs to be not in a car that will only lose value.
i think you'd do no wrong to buy a late model pickup. You mentioned home depot trips, so apparently all these ppl saying EVO, STI, etc, haven't tried to haul much more than groceries, friends, or the occasional pizza box.

"Project 69'"
1969 Chevrolet C/10, 1/2 ton, 2wd
-Boosted LS1?
-Richmond ROD 6-speed(will get sometime)
-Posi 12-bolt(built w/eaton posi unit and richmond 3.73 gears)
-Disc brake and 5 lug swap
+little extras
Buy yourself the toy then find a used truck to use for hauling stuff. Chances are your going to ding and scratch the crap out of it doing home owner type things.
My personal choice for something brand new would be a WRX. Used for a toy, anything with an LS1
The used car under 30k I want would be a 02 red firehawk with all the SLP options
