Thats what i thought at first, but the intake manifolds and throttle bodies are all wrong.
5.3L Vortecs?
"Project 69'"
1969 Chevrolet C/10, 1/2 ton, 2wd
-Boosted LS1?
-Richmond ROD 6-speed(will get sometime)
-Posi 12-bolt(built w/eaton posi unit and richmond 3.73 gears)
-Disc brake and 5 lug swap
+little extras
Yeah, they are both 5.3's, except the main motor has z06 heads, z06 cam and a f-body oil pan. So more or less its a ls1 with fewer cubic inches, These are just the motors for this year though, I plan on turning up the boost on the first one till it pops then throw the spare one in for the rest of the year., My buddy (Mythod) is going to build me a 408 stroker motor for next year
It would be nice to have a turbo 3.8 in it, matches the history of the car a bit more
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
But it IS just a Regal. He isn't molesting a GN and putting a V8 in it. I say build that big powerful turbo'ed V8 and don't look back. He should be worried about the history of the car with the 3.8 turbo if it were an actual Grand National.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I would agree with you if this was originally a Grand National, but this was just a limited v8 edition regal, so in a way I am matching the history of the car. The only thing im doing is putting a turbo v8 instead of the near dead one that was in there.
Here is what I want the car to somewhat look like, I want to take the vinyl top off, take all the chrome off and get a t-type hood for it. More or less make it a T-type replica instead of a Grand National replica
Heres a pic of what the turbo setup will look like, Except I haven't decided if I want the crossover pipe in front like in the pic, or if Im going to route it back by the bellhousing of the transmission, just like the factory y pipe was routed
those cars are awesome when they are all fixed up, there is a show on NBC called Life which is awesome by the way but the main character on the show drives an awesome 1987 Regal with a (WE2) Grand National option package.
It looks and sounds awesome.
