P-Tuning Rocks!!! tC turbo kit

for those that dont know who p-tuning is click this link
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=239067

now on to the good stuff
P-tuning is putting out a serious piece of kit for the tC which i thought i would share.
they decided to make a turbo kit which is derived from their championship winning tC.

now keep in mind when looking at the dyno sheets that its done on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.
they have nicely adjusted the numbers to show what it would be comparable to on other types of dynos.
also this is on an 06 tC which have lower compression and less aggressive cams then the newer engines in the 07-09 tC's.
a 07-09 would see around 15-20whp more then this car.

here is a link to info on the kit (a lot more pics)

Here are the specs on the car and turbo kit along with the dyno sheet and dyno pull video. We've also provided the estimated dyno #s for a Dynojet as well as a Dynapack. The numbers are based on a 2006 tC so expect 15-20 more whp for the '07-'09 motor.

Are you using the stock crank? I remember reading years ago that it was a weak point of the TC bottom end.

Hmmm.... turbo seems almost low enough to need a scavenge pump on the oil return... Pics aren't really clear on that though. Interesting choice of turbo trim...

tC's seem to have so many offerings in terms of kits, I love it.

BTW that car is plain sexy.

its not my car but i know that the crank isn't the weak point. there have been people who have put 600-700whp on the stock crank from what i know.
the rods are the weak point, most people try and stay under 350whp for daily drivers.
i believe P-tuning was running 380whp on the stock engine which was working quite fine until they crashed it and then decided to put in their built motor they were working on.

My buddy had the first mocked up Chris Rado turbo kit.

They actually had there Scion Racing based right here in PA. before they moved to LA.

However, I think the World Racing Kit is much cleaner, I don't know if it's out for public yet, but my buddies TC hauled something serious with Rado's Kit on it.

never heard of ether of those kits... they must not be a production kits

Greddy, Turbo Toyota's, Dezod, Turbonetics and P-Tuning, TRD (Supercharger) are the production kits that are out right now
there are a few kits that are also in the works from a few other companies aswell

nice #'s.

they are using a AEM FIC thats it

everything comes with the kit lol ...

basically its a complete turbo kit with intercooler and piping.
fuel management is also included with a plug and play AEM FIC with a tailored base tune for your setup and larger fuel injectors.

if you click the link there is more details

So a fuel management system and a "bolt on" turbo kit without actually dyno-tuning your car is "complete?" not to sound like an ass hole, but unless the tC is different than every other car in the world, I wouldn't add that much power to a car and not have it tuned.

well what else would you like to add to the kit because their isn't anymore physical parts that you could add to it... unless you plan on making up some imaginary pieces.

obviously no matter what car you have with a turbo kit your gonna have to tuned it if you want to get all the power out of it. however they currently making several conservative "canned" tunes to start from which is a plus.it will be good because you could ether just run that conservative tune and be out a bit of power or have it tuned and the tuner doesn't have to start from scratch at that point thus saving you lots of money.

also the tC is much better then most cars at correcting fuel trims. it has a very smart ECU that reads the A/F ratio threw a wideband source.
you can actually run about 5-6psi with out the need for any addition fuel management.. though it is recommended to get a tune.

I was just reading your post about it being 100% complete and ready to go, as meaning that the parts and electronics it comes with are ALL you need. I didn't assume that you assumed everyone knew that you don't add major power adders and not tune. There are far too many people out there that think it's all about power adding PARTS and the tuning time isn't needed. We can't assume everyone knows that LOL.
