Friend of mine has an 05 aveo with 32500miles on it....had to have the trans rebuilt and the valve body replaced...he was wondering if there is a TSB or Recall on the trans or not from GM....just outta curiousity....its an automatic BTW, and hes not hard on it at all its just a daily driver....any answers would be appreciated. thanks

he brought up a good point though. either A ask the dealership which i think was an appropriate comment from ryan since you never mentioned in your original post that he had contacted the dealer about it or B like ryan said try an Aveo forum. obviously they would know more about recalls then we would even if its in the other cars forum. theres 1000s of different cars.

If he contacted the dealer and they said there is no recall or tsb on it then i guess there is no recall on it. you would need 1000s of these transmissions to fail before GM would put a recall out on them.

Actually it's not. This is the "other cars" forum and your still on the site for J-bodys, I know of 1 person on this site who has an Aveo. Sorry but your still the retard.

No there are not any recalls out and the TSB's that are out there have nothing to do with the transmission needing rebuilt.

i gotta say, it didn't seem at all like he was being a smartass...relax a bit...you got your answer(or as much as you will get here), so take it...no point in keeping this going. also, any recalls can be found at internet auto guide, once you search for the car.
