A friend of mine has one and he seems happy with it, a fun little truck to bomb around in.
Just stay away from the ones with with sunroofs. Apparently they all leak.
Stay Away !!! I work at a Chevrolet Dealership and see alot of these. Granted you may get one that gives you no problems, but I've seen my share with inherent issues with the motors and wheel ailgnment problems. They are also kind of noisey (engine valve train) and they ride like crap. The seats are not confortable either. As for the motors....well they have a tendency to throw random missfire codes and its related to the valve guides not made correctly. The fix is
replace the cylinder head with a newly revised version ($$$$$) The wheel alignment issue is that they have toe in - out problems and wear the inside edges off the tires in 10k to 15k miles.
Just my opinion though !!
my dad had one as a company truck, hard seats, gas mileage was not even close to what it was advertised at. it did have the valvetrain problem as discussed above, company truck so they fixed it. all around you can do better for what the price is. i know geeds had good luck but he is lucky.
that really sucks. they re really nice looking trucks!! i agree about the seats, they re kinda hard. also even for price too over toyota tacoma, nissian frontier, honda ridgeline, etc..
I guess i should start looking for other options.. thanks. keep the inputs coming.
if it has an existing warranty they will fix the valve issue at no charge
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
really cant afford to deal with a down time on a DD. and i want something that lasts longer. not brand new, just sightly used Ford F150? Silverado? still looking around.
I see there is a new V8 option on Colorado for 09 models. $$!
Tacoma FTW
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
personally i like the new ford ranger xlt package trucks. that is what i will be getting this spring.
I just picked up a 2005 Sierra 5.3L with low milage back in September, and it was a pretty good price too. But they are bigger then the Colorado's / Canyon's. Used Trucks should still be down in price, but if people start noticing the gas prices staying low, they may start going up in price again.
go full size or don't buy a truck is my opinion
BUY ONE!!!!!!
I love mine
Phewes if you want check out
www.355nation.net and www.coloradofans.com
those are the two major colorado/canyon sites
or hell go with a 09 with the 5.3 option
also I have a 04 and have not needed to have my head replaced yet
go for the 5.3, finaly there making them the right way.
my dad has an 05 colorado ext cab, 2wd.. not a single issue yet, runs and drives great.. not a fan of his seats, but after a couple weeks, you get over it
Fire is gone unfortunately! Parts 4 sale, look in Mid-Central...
I bought a 08 Canyon Crew in April.
Its a good truck...I like it...does what I need to do.
I'd recommend it

My dad has had on 05 and now an 08. Both Z71 Crew Cab. No complaints from him. He got 27mpg from the 05, and is around 30mpg in the 08, and it only has 2500kms on it now.
I still prefer my 02 Sierra though. Seats are like a leather lounge chair, the 5.3 is plenty powerful enough, and I get close to 20mpg, sometimes a hair over with long highway trips. Not the 30mpg the Colorado will get, but still. You can't compare a v8 to an i5.
