What if it's a base 2.3? Personally I love the Fox bodies, I think they are by far the best platform to Hot-Rod Ford has ever made. It existed from 1978 to 2004 and includes cars like the 79-93 Mustang, 79-86 Capri, Fairmound, Zephyr, LTD (small), Thunderbird, Cougar, Mark VI, 94-up Mustang and some other stuff I'm missing. It can fit everything from a small 4 banger with a Turbo to a huge 460. It can be fitted with an IRS and every modern thing from a 2004 Stang, it's a nice clean layout that's open to a lot of mods. It's the best hot-rod since the 1955-57 Chevys and 1967-69 Camaros honestly.
My opinion? Go for it!
Its just my personal prejudice. I would rather a LS1 F-body.
But if it floats your boat, dont let the mustang haters(me) stop ya.

I'd personally stick with a small block ford, but that's just me... What is the big benefit of swapping in the 4.6?
no benefits on one motor over the other. I mean honestly I bet I'll change my mind back my original plan of a stroked out 302 to 347 seeing as the cars already got the wiring harness and computer for the 302(it was a 2.3) , but i just haven't seen a whole lot of foxbodys with the 2v modular in it. i just think it would be cool.

that's about the same as asking a jbody guy why they want to put a 3400 in their car, but i know a lot of you are ford or mustang haters but w/e that's cool too.
I also wouldn't mind an F-body, my fiance would love for me to find one and restore it for her. however those in not total crap condition are few and far between here
but as far as the Chevy vs Ford thing goes, i love both and i really think it would be amazing for them to rally up and wipe the import scene clean, any takers?
No you should do an 302 in a pinto that would be tight yo
lol
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
i would like to see updates
but mustangs still suck
check out foxbodyforum.com, but most people are going to tell you a 5.0 is way cheaper/easier
i saw the title of this and thought it was about a VW Fox.....
I'm disappointed...
I have a Car Craft magazine with a "budget build" using the 5.0 liter(4.9) and making 618 hp.Has a little to do with a small thing called a ProCharger, lol

Just drop a 351 Cleavland in there with a 4-barrel, eddlebrock heads, a good cam, and a lower rear end, and call it a day.
Thats what we want to do with this car.... but the money just isn't worth it right now.
pic is just to proove that im not completely fox body ignorant btw.
.
just build the 5.0 it will work. try and get an 89 lx if you can they have some desirable features among fox bodies.
