2010 Ford Mustang

2010 Mustang is not an all-new model, but rather a heavily revised version of the current car, with changes concentrated in the areas that called for the most improvement. The new version uses the roof and A-pillars from the old one. But the front and rear of the pony car are now slightly tapered, and the fender flares have been toned down. The interior is where Ford invested its greatest effort. A new dashboard made from one giant soft-plastic molding looks and feels much richer than the several hard pieces it replaces. The metallic trim is real aluminum and different in texture on the V-6 and V-8 models. In fact, the shift knob and everything else that looks like aluminum is indeed the genuine metal. A reconfigured console should be softer on your knees when bracing them during hard driving, the optional leather seats show off beautiful stitching, and a navigation system with an eight-inch screen, reverse camera, and Sync 2.0 is optional.
Mechanically, there are no major changes (at least not yet; more powerful engines are supposedly on their way for 2011), but the new GT is an evolution of the current generation’s Bullitt model, which it allegedly outperforms. Small changes to the GT’s powertrain include a cold air intake, a 250-rpm bump to the V-8’s redline, and 3.5-inch exhaust tips out back.
reworked suspension calibrations optimized for standard 18-inch and optional 19-inch tires. A new stability control system has also been implemented; it includes an intermediate “Track” setting in addition to full on and off operation. Spread across two optional performance packages are high-grip summer tires, track-ready brake pads, GT500 anti-roll bars and rear lower control arms, and a shorter 3.73:1 axle ratio.
The V-6 model also gets an uprated suspension with tires that are an inch larger, though the V-6 output remains at 210 hp. The new bodywork reduced the drag coefficient on both versions by four to seven percent. Ford claims that improvements in window and door seals have reduced wind noise as well.

If you want my opinion, the lines look more like the new Camaros lines, but i guess they're trying that seeing as its its direct competition. I do like the interior styling on it, but the lail lights look weird. Oh well. Id still buy a Camaro.

Rice??

GM has a gas truck with 3.5" exhaust, not just a tip.

I like the fact that they modernized it while letting it keep it's retro feel. The trick to update a retro car is to do an evolutionary design rather than a revolutionary one. I like the front end better, it's sleeker and more modern. The rear end is okay, no better or worse than the older Mustang. What I especially like is I've heard that the interior materials are supposedly much improved, making the car feel more like a 40k Volvo than a 20k Ford. If that's true, then the car is worth a look just for that.

I'm still waiting for the flippy paddle shifters and push start button though. Also, I think Ford should eventually offer a handling package with independant rear suspension. Either that or offer IRS standard and a drag package with a solid rear axle. If they want to stay competitive they have to start improving the car, not just letting it sell on it's looks alone. The new 3.5 Ecoboost V6 will be a step in the right direction, but they'd better offer a turbocharged V8 as well to compete with the high HP Camaro and Challenger or risk loosing sales. The Mustang accounts for between 5 and 10% of all Ford sales in America, you'd think they'd pay more attention to it.

Then again, maybe this explains why the Ford CEO is in Washington DC begging for money right now.

I think it screams Camaro, but I do like the looks of the red one without the spoiler.

I like it.

I wonder how many people are buying Mustang GT's since the Camaro is STILL not out.

I like the tails and rear end - nice to see a slight change. And the interior is getting less bland.

But WTF happened to the front? The car looks like it has an underbite!

Nope.

I like it. A LOT. I'd rock a black one with the red interior. But not until they put in a bloody independent rear suspension!!!!!

So basicly add lot of cost for something that 90% of owners will never need/notice?? I prefer a live axle, especially after having to fix GTO rear ends.

it seems to have more of a G35 line to it, at least it looks like it in this picture in particular

You are not kidding. I know it is the current model, but a dealer near me had one advertised a brand-new 2008 GT for $19K, if this is a ball park indication of a potential price for 2010 (say $20-22K), Im there.

I like it quite a bit.
Now all it needs is one of those fancy-shmancy dsg tranny's for its V8 as an option.

tails look gross IMO. and the front end is definitely a new camaro wannabe.

why cant they do something useful and ditch those ugly ass tiny POS quarter windows you cant see out of?

You look so much cuter with something in your mouth.

how can it be a camaro wanna be? After 438 years of dragging it out there still is no Camaro. The camaro is the wanna be.
