Hey, I need to change the shocks on my blazer, the rears seem pretty simple, but the fronts look like there might be some trick to it. I also have never done shocks on a blazer that is 4x4 before.
Any tips or tricks on how to do it??? is there anythign else I should replace while I am in there anyways???
Thank you,
Chris
check the usual while it's up and open;
-tie rod ends
-brakes
-wheel bearings
-ball joints
-inspect the wheel studs
-CV joints
-sway bar end links
-look for any fittings you may not have noticed before and make sure to grease them
also if it is the same as the S-10s, has a 4.3 and you have yet to change the plugs; you may want to consider changing them as well while you already have the tires off.
don't you also have to take off the steering shaft to get to the rear left bank plug????? That might be something I need to do also,
The fronts are very easy as well man. Unbolt the bottom and the top and compress and pull out..takes maybe 45 min to do both sides..phil

Depends, I have a special spark plug socket for those at work that I use, it has 2 swivels on it so it also reaches around the shock tower.. anywhoo, if you motor mounts suck you can just jack the oil pan up enough to clear the shaft, be sure to use a block of wood though..
