Back when I had my sunfire a few years back, this site was an AMAZING resource for everything car-related. The lease on that 2002 5-speed beauty expired and we leased a new 2006 Pursuit. As soon as this lease expires I'm going to look into buying a used 2002 Silver Sunfire like the car I used to love.
In the meantime I'm looking to hook up an MP3 player to my factory radio in this 2006 pursuit but I don't know where to turn. Is there a "j-body.org" for a 2006 Pontiac Pursuit?
I tried using an FM modulator but the quality is too terrible. I want to do a direct connection and I don't want to pay like $300 for buying a whole new deck. I tried looking in the manual that came with the car for help but its totally useless. Is there an advanced manual for the car audio system out there anywhere?
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be AMAZING! I tried talking to the guys at my local car audio shop (Factory Auto Sound) and they insisted that I need new deck or advanced FM modulator.
Thanks in advance,
-Mike
Alot of the new cars come with an audio input that looks like a headphone jack. I don't know if the stereo place actually looked at it or they just wanted you to buy a stereo. If it doesn't have that hook up, your best choice is probably an after-market stereo. I was lookin at the adapters for ipod for a stock stereo and they're rediculous. There's a Sony at Wal-mart that has direct ipod hook up and USB hook up that I got a year ago for $160, and its a great stereo.
Thanks for the help twiztid,
I definitely think they were just trying to sell me a stereo. I'm not sure where to look for an AUX audio jack which is why I came on J-body. Do you know of any resource like j-body but for Pontiac Pursuit-type car owners? I was hoping I could get away with not spending over $100 to do this hookup and I'm sure that'll require some reading or getting connected with other Pursuit owners. Thanks again
