so because its black means its not CF? I think its class glass that sells a shaved CF trunk that only comes with black gelcoat.... or maybe he painted it.
but I do doubt its actually CF based on the rest of the car.

I must have read my post 100 more times and no where could I find that it said paint wouldn't stick to CF. You really think he bought a CF hood and painted it flat black with a spray can?
It was a simple questions.
maybe its a cheapo w/ a bad weave, so he painted it. or it was damaged at one time, and painted it flat black in his back yard?
no point in asking us, call and ask him. just my .02 cents.
