ok my friend bought a 2008 cobat ls...2.2eco 5spd..first of all i have to say, ive found a new love in the eco...sorry for all the criticism i have said in the past about the eco boys...but ne way..if he were to have a certified shop install a cat back, would it void his warranty...and im not askin how, but what mph do they shut off at?jw, hes not gona try it, but i kno the ld9's were like 107...do they not have a rev limiter, cuz it doesnt seem like it...loll thanx
4-2-1 pacesetter header..full 2.5 pacesetter piping..bomz cai..genkei short shifter..vibrant front and rear strut bars..aem tru power alt pulley..neon glow strobes..xenon ultra blues..panasonic 7" flipout..Lanzar 15" sub..legacy 2000watt mono..
shouldnt this be in " other cars" ?
Modifications can't void the warranty in general. Legally mods can only void the warranty on parts that went bad because of it... for example they can tell you they wont cover a Mass air flow sensor because you have a K&N filter (to much oil on the filter can cause oil to get sucked in and burn up the MAF) but if your trans goes out they can't blame it on the intake.
does that make sense or no?
long story short look up the Magnason Moss act (not sure if I spelled that right)
L61s cobalts are slow as balls even modded they cant break out of the 15s, top speed is like 120 i believe, nothing to bother with its sure never going to reach it in the quarter mile
Changing the exhaust voids the factory exhaust warranty, nothing else
Real love for the eco can be found in the 2002-2005 Jbodies, combination works alot better
