That is a sweet ride
15.2@89mph 2.171 60ft. 9.830 1/8 R.I.P. "LULU"
The mac mini is a cool touch. If they were legal here, and I had $10K, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'd have to gut all the ICE crap, though. Not my thing.

They are legal in Canada, there is one in my city and i live in Ontario.
Newt: TCs are NOT admissable in Canada. Their front bumpers and crash members are 2mph, Canada requires 5mph.

The one you saw is either not a TC (which is unlikely) or it's on a special admission in Ontario it's a blue license plate with white lettering (IIRC) or a red plate with white lettering in which case it's an embassy plate. Either way, as soon as the owner is out of Canada, the car is too most likely (or it's being turned into a track-only vehicle). It's part of the reason you'd see a couple GTO's in Toronto, or Ottawa, but no where else wearing a CDN plate.

It was definitly a TC and it definitly had a regular lisense plate on it. The dealership that sold it had another one on the lot after the first one sold.
I to though they were illegal for the longest time, however, after i saw this car many times driving around i though that maybe they were allowed now?
I can get a picture if you would like, i have a general idea of where the guy lives im sure ill be able to find it.
Sad to see it on sale, but on the other hand, this allows for another build, and seeing how well Cynce and Matt built this, I can't wait to see what is in store next

I want to see this: because unless the person who owns it is not a resident, they should not have it at all. That dealership (if it's a used car place, they're going to get screwed) should not have been able to import it, sell it, or plate it without a lot of extra paperwork or some serious deception with regards to the VIN. The Xa's and Xb's are legal to import because they just need the corolla's front/rear bumpers and child restraints. The tC isn't legal to sell for street use in Canada though. I want to know how the hell it is that these things are getting plated for street use if they're being sold to Canadians: they don't conform to our crash standards.
Either way though, the tC is not a legal car to import into Canada, RIV is the authority you have to go through to get cars into Canada from the USA, and if they say it's not admissable, the owners will have their car impounded and the plates pulled.
does matt come with the car? if so, possible sale pending

Ill get pics on Saturday if i can find the car, but like i said it shouldn't be a problem, and post them up in Other Cars, sorry for the tread jacking.
I have seen a couple TC's in Canada too, and actually my aunt in Nova Scotia is driving one right now. And I know she didn't have a @!#$ load of paper work to do when she brought it across, and she is a full time resident in Cape Breton...so I have no idea how thats happening. Not questioning that they won't comply to Canadian standards but I know its a hot little car and she is most certainly driving it, for past 2 years now. I was pretty amazed because I wanted one, but they weren't in Canada....my dad laughed and said drive by your aunts Silvia's place...i was floored, like I said I don't know how the heck she got it across or what the process was, and now I live in BC or I'd ask.

I will back this claim up.
Newt and I are brother, IRL.
We live same house yadda yadda yadda.
I have seen this car numerous times driving to school in Sudbury, Ontario.
It is a Scion TC
With ontario plates.
Disclaimer: I will probally offend you with what is written in this post.
I know this Kanewtz
I know some cars get over due to trickery with the VINs or somehow purchasing through a US dealership... It's not impossible, but if the car is on the RIV inadmissable list, the plates are going to get pulled.
Alright, so no sale this time around - but the bids got REALLY close to the reserve. =/
Thanks for the support, though, everyone! Matt and I do have two new projects in the works so look for those to debut in 2008.
